| The accurate measurement of oil-water two-phase flow water content is an important indicator for all aspects of oil extraction, production and transportation.High accuracy measurement of oil-water two-phase flow water content can effectively predict oil production, determine the location of oil production, predict the development life of oil wells, etc. It is crucial to realize the automated management of oil recovery, track the oil-water distribution status of oil fields and develop targeted extraction plans. This paper proposes a dual-mode electromagnetic(EM)water content detection technique for oil-water two-phase flows, which combines the measurement characteristics of the RF and EM induction conductivity methods to improve the detection accuracy of water content in oil-water two-phase flows over a full range. The feasibility and superiority of the dual-mode electromagnetic water content detection technique is investigated and analysed by means of detection mechanism analysis, model simulation analysis and experimental validation.Firstly, the analysis of the detection mechanism and characteristics of the RF and EM induction methods reveals the complementary advantages of the two detection methods and theoretically verifies that the dual-mode EM detection technique is feasible.Secondly, using the COMSOL multi-physics field simulation software,a model for the detection of water content in oil-water two-phase flow by the RF method and the electromagnetic induction conductivity method is established, and the full range of detection effects of the two detection methods are simulated and analysed. The feasibility of the dual-mode electromagnetic method for the detection of water content in oil-water two-phase flow is thus demonstrated, and the structure of the detection device and its parameters, etc.,are determined in the simulation.Again, the design of the dual-mode electromagnetic oil-water two-phase flow sensor and detection structure is based on the simulation results, and the performance of the designed detection system is tested. Finally, the developed sensor, device structure and detection system were used to build an indoor experimental platform to carry out experiments on the detection of water content in oil-water two-phase flow by radio frequency method, electromagnetic induction conductivity method and dual-mode electromagnetic method, and the experimental results are in high agreement with the conclusions of theoretical derivation and simulation analysis.Specifically, the water content of oil-water two-phase flow in the range of 40-70% using a fusion of two methods, water content below 40% using radio frequency method, water content above 70%using electromagnetic induction conductivity method, can meet the full range of oil-water two-phase flow water content of high precision measurement technology needs, for the subsequent engineering applications to provide the theoretical basis and technical support. |
