Steel wire rope is widely used in production life,wire rope diameter is an important technical index to measure the quality of wire rope.Traditional wire rope diameter inspection methods are manual inspection,there are problems such as low efficiency,quality is vulnerable to human factors,it is difficult to meet the online inspection requirements of high-end wire rope.This paper adopts the online inspection method of wire rope diameter based on machine vision,based on the analysis of wire rope structure and diameter detection deviation requirements,according to the inspection content and target,combined with the production workshop production reality,developed the online inspection program of wire rope diameter based on machine vision,built the experimental platform,determined a reasonable light source,CCD sensing camera,high resolution industrial lens and processing equipment,in this On the basis of the system hardware,the software design work of the online system of wire rope diameter based on machine vision is completed,which includes image acquisition,image processing,interface design,and realizes the non-contact online inspection of wire rope diameter size.The experimental results show that under the condition that the wire rope speed is 8m/min,the wire rope diameter detected by the online inspection system based on machine vision,i.e.the wire rope detection diameter,deviates within 0-5% of the nominal diameter,which meets the requirements of GB 8918-2006 important use wire rope specification.The system realizes the non-contact online inspection of wire rope diameter,improves the inspection efficiency,and provides a new inspection idea and method for wire rope diameter inspection.
