A Study Of Engels’ Ecological Thought And Its Contemporary Value

Engels organically linked the dialectics of nature with human history through practice and reorganized the relationship between humans and nature.In his criticism of capitalism and scientific foresight of future society,he profoundly explained the theoretical and practical necessity of the harmonious relationship between humans and nature.Currently,we are conducting in-depth exploration of Engels’ ecological thought,understanding and mastering the essence of Engels’ ecological thought,and linking it with the practice of China’s ecological civilization construction to better guide China’s ecological construction.This article takes Engels’ ecological thought as the research object and conducts research on it from three aspects.Firstly,it elaborates on the formation and development process of Engels’ecological thought.Engels lived in an age when ecological problems were highlighted and class contradictions intensified under the leadership of capitalist private ownership.Engels criticized and absorbed the metaphysical view of nature,the German ancient philosophy view of nature and the ancient Greek natural philosophy.On this basis,Engels’ ecological thought gradually formed,developed and finally matured,forming a scientific ecological thought.Secondly,the main content of Engels’ ecological thought is discussed,and three characteristics of Engels’ ecological thought are summarized:materialism,dialectics,and practicality.Finally,we will explore the connotation and value of Engels’ important proposition of "the relationship between humans and nature" from both theoretical and practical dimensions,and based on this,explore the theoretical value and practical significance of Engels’ ecological thinking for the construction of ecological civilization in China.
