Study On Influencing Factors Of Coal Trade Between China And Mongolia

China is the world’s largest producer and consumer of coal,and coal is an important part of its energy strategy.With the development of China’s economy,the domestic coal production has been far from meeting the market demand,and the energy shortage has prompted China to increase the import of coal resources to make up for the shortage in the domestic market.Mongolia is a close neighbor of China and has rich coal resources.Importing coal from Mongolia has become one of the realistic choices for China to import coal.In September 2020,China put forward the dual-carbon target,and continued to adjust its energy structure and industrial layout which will have an important impact on the development of the energy industry.China is Mongolia’s largest trading partner and investor,and the two countries share 13 border ports with obvious geographical advantages.The coal trade and industry between China and Mongolia are highly complementary.Coal resource cooperation has become an important part of bilateral energy trade cooperation with broad prospects for development.First of all,this paper collected,consulted and studied relevant domestic and foreign literature and materials related to the coal energy trade between China and Mongolia.Based on the development of the coal trade between China and Mongolia,with China’s import of Mongolian coal as the entry point,the paper selected corresponding indicators to construct the TVP-SV-VAR model.Through the empirical analysis and demonstration of the different development stages and important points of Sino-Mongolian coal trade through the main data variables,the research conclusions with practical significance are drawn.The research finds that:stabilizing the exchange rate of the two countries,promoting China’s coal industry to carry out advanced capacity replacement,and improving China’s coal import structure will significantly promote the development of Sino-Mongolian coal trade.Secondly,according to the existing problems and influencing factors in the coal trade between China and Mongolia,feasible countermeasures and suggestions are put forward from the different perspectives of China and Mongolia.In conclusion,further expanding the coal trade volume between China and Mongolia will be the energy driving force to boost China’s GDP economic development,so as to promote the transformation of China’s energy economy to green environmental protection,accelerate the replacement of China’s coal industry with advanced production capacity,and provide energy guarantee for China to achieve the goal of reaching peak carbon neutrality in the future.
