The frequent occurrence of casualties and injuries in the construction industry has seriously affected the healthy and balanced development of the construction industry.The root cause of this phenomenon is that China’s construction workers group generally has insufficient safety knowledge reserve and lack of safety skills,which leads to their mistakes caused by the lack of safety knowledge in construction operations.Based on the current situation,this thesis provides measures and suggestions for improving the safety knowledge acquisition ability of workers by establishing a structural equation model and validating the model with empirical analysis data to identify the important influencing factors of safety knowledge acquisition behavior.In order to improve the knowledge acquisition ability of construction workers and enhance their knowledge acquisition behavior,this thesis investigates the acquisition behavior by constructing structural equation modeling analysis method.The influencing factors are firstly identified and collected through systematic literature review and interview method,and then combined with expert scoring method and grey relational analysis method to further screen the influencing factors.Finally,five categories of latent variables and 23 observed variables were identified and screened: safety atmosphere,safety management,safety motivation,safety education and training,and individual factors.Based on the theory related to knowledge acquisition,the influence relationship among variables was established and the structural equation model of safety knowledge acquisition behavior was constructed.This paper validates the model through empirical research methods.The study sample data were first obtained by distributing and collecting questionnaires,and then the alpha reliability coefficient and KMO values and bartlett’s spherical test were selected to test the reliability and validity of the data and questionnaires.The reliability and validity of the data were tested to be good,and the data were were substituted into the model for goodness-of-fit analysis,which yielded the following results for the analysis of the paths and the coefficients of influence between variables in the model:(1)Influence relationships and paths among variables: all five types of latent variables showed positive influence relationships on acquisition behavior,among which,safety management,safety motivation,and safety atmosphere influenced knowledge acquisition behavior through influencing safety education and training,and safety management and safety motivation indirectly influenced knowledge acquisition behavior through influencing individual factors.(2)Among the endogenous latent variables that have a direct influence on the acquisition behavior,the influence coefficients of safety education and training and individual factors are 0.845 and 0.341,respectively,and the influence of safety education and training is more significant;as exogenous latent variables: the combined influence coefficients of safety atmosphere,safety motivation,and safety management on knowledge acquisition behavior are 0.059,0.315,and 0.352,respectively,among which the influence of safety atmosphere The influence of safety atmosphere is lower than the remaining two variables.(3)The comprehensive influence coefficient table of 23 observed variables was obtained,among which: training frequency,training method,training effect,training content,technical delivery,financial incentive,and emotional incentive were the more significant influencing factors.Finally,based on the influence paths among the factors,the optimal path of intervention,and the comprehensive influence coefficient on the acquisition behavior,countermeasures that can effectively improve the acquisition behavior of workers’ safety knowledge are targeted.Taking construction workers as the research object,this thesis explores the formation causes and operation mechanism of their safety knowledge acquisition behaviors through structural equation modeling analysis method,which can effectively reduce the generation of unsafe behaviors of construction workers,thus reducing casualties,and at the same time can improve the safety management level of construction industry,providing new ideas and new solutions for construction safety management.
