The formation of fog will reduce the clarity of transparent materials.The preparation of hydrophilic anti-fog coatings is a common method of antifogging.Hydrophilic coatings prepared with polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)as raw materials have good applications in anti-fogging.However,there is still a problem of lowtemperature frosting of the coating.Because PVA has ice recrystallization inhibition activity,studies have shown that the addition of trehalose(Tre)to the PVA hydrogel system can enhance its hydration,and Tre has good antifreeze performance.In this paper,Tre grafted modified PVA was prepared to improve the anti-frosting performance of PVA coating and applied to the cryopreservation of red blood cells.Polyvinyl alcohol-g-trehalose(PVA-g-Tre)was prepared by grafting polymerization,and based on the grafting polymer,ethylene glycol dimethacrylate,under ultraviolet light conditions,the hydrophilic semi interpenetrating network coating was prepared.It has been tested with atomic force microscope,scanning electron microscope,wettability,anti-fogging and anti-frosting.It shows that the prepared coating has lower roughness,and as the grafting rate increases,the hydrophilicity increases.It has good anti-fogging performance,and compared with the coating prepared by PVA,the coating prepared by grafting polymer can extend the frosting time up to 65 minutes.Differential scanning calorimetry and Raman spectroscopy tests have shown that,compared with PVA coatings,grafting polymer coatings exhibit stronger hydrogen bonding,thereby prolonging the anti-frosting time of the coatings.A cryopreservation solution of PVA and PVA-g-Tre compounded with Tre was prepared for the cryopreservation of RBC.The results showed that the cryopreservation solution of PVA and grafting polymer compounded with Tre did not improve the cryopreservation survival of human red blood cells(h RBC)compared to pure Tre.It improved cryopreservation survival rate of sheep red blood cells(s RBC)by 15.2%.Through test of osmolarity,intracellular Tre concentration,intracellular ATP content,blood rheology,and flow cytometry tests,it was proved that the solution reduced the osmolarity of h RBC,intracellular Tre concentration,intracellular ATP concentration,plasma viscosity,and RBC aggregation index,phosphatidylserine(PS)eversion rate;after incubating s RBC,its osmolarity was increased.Reduced intracellular Tre concentration,plasma viscosity,RBC aggregation index,deformation index and PS eversion rate,and intracellular ATP maintains or slightly increases.Through the IRI activity test,it proved that the grafting polymer has an IRI activity equivalent to that of PVA.
