With the establishment of the "Made in China 2025" strategy,China’s mould and die enterprises have entered a critical stage of transformation after a long period of development.However,the vague specification of 3D modeling of basic parts and the lack of scientific model knowledge management have made it difficult for a large number of light industry mould enterprises in China to effectively improve their product development capabilities.In view of the problems of irregular modelling methods,difficulty in finding models and inconvenience in reuse of 3D models of basic parts of light industry mould,The construction of digital reusable model resources and knowledge management of basic parts of light industry mould are researched through the integration of digital modelling and model knowledge management with the goal of the efficient management and accurate reuse the digital part model of light industry mould.A categorization system of light industrial mould basic parts based on "functional characteristics and design reuse features" and a 3D modelling specification of various type light industrial mould basic parts are established.Based on the Pro/E system,The reusable3 D model of light industrial mould base parts is established and the corresponding model reuse knowledgebase of these mould parts is developed using Access.Based on the established reusable3 D models and model reuse knowledgebase,a light industrial basic parts 3D model visualisation interactive retrieval and model reuse system is developed using Pro/toolkit and Django framework.Based on this system,users can realise the visualisation interactive retrieval and automatic modelling of light industrial basic parts 3D models according to the model design reuse features.It can significantly improve the modelling efficiency and quality.It facilitates the accurate accumulation of part model design resources for light industrial mould enterprises.Through the integration of the 3D modeling and design knowledge reuse,the research work in this paper has formed a promotion and reference method which can accumulate the digital design resource for the Product development of our light industry mould enterprises.
