Economic development and environmental protection are major social issues related to people’s livelihood. To properly handle the relationship between economic development and environmental protection and realize the benign interaction between them is a realistic task on the path of our great rejuvenation.Soon after China’s per capita GDP has exceeded trillion US dollars, the pressure of emission reduction is increasing.China will face the pressure of coordinating economic development and carbon dioxide emissions for a long time.It is imperative to reduce emissions under climate warming. As a developing country,we should also take into account economic growth.Carbon productivity refers to the added value of GDP per unit of CO2emissions in the process of energy utilization. As a composite indicator that takes into account economic growth and carbon emissions,it has unique research value at this stage. At the same time, both greenhouse gas emissions and economic activities are geographically heterogeneous and dependent. Therefore, this paper explores carbon productivity and its influencing factors from a spatial perspective. This paper mainly studies carbon productivity and its influencing factors by combining theoretical analysis and empirical test.First of all, sort out the existing research perspectives and research results of carbon productivity, and sort out the definitions of the factors affecting carbon productivity in this paper, including:specialized agglomeration, diversified agglomeration, environmental regulation, and degree of marketization. Then, taking GDP and carbon emissions as the starting point, the paper analyzes the effects of specialization agglomeration, diversification agglomeration, environmental regulation, and marketization on carbon productivity from positive and negative directions, and then analyzes the spillover paths of the impact of influencing factors on the surrounding areas from the spatial perspective. Then, introduce carbon emissions into Cobb Douglas production function, establish a theoretical model of factors affecting carbon productivity, and convert the model into matrix form to prepare for later measurement.Next,it calculates the carbon productivity and its influencing factors, analyzes the change trend of China’s carbon productivity, and compares the differences of carbon productivity between the east and the west. The spatial correlation of carbon productivity is analyzed with Moran index, and the following conclusions are obtained through quantitative analysis:1.China’s carbon productivity is increasing year by year, with large regional differences and strong spatial correlation.2.Both specialized agglomeration and diversified agglomeration have inhibitory effects on local and surrounding carbon productivity, especially the negative effect of specialized agglomeration on carbon productivity is more obvious.3.The degree of marketization can not only improve the local carbon productivity, but also improve the carbon productivity of surrounding areas.4.The environmental regulation measured by the degree of environmental pollution has an inhibitory effect on the local carbon productivity, but has no significant effect on the surrounding areas.5.The technological level promotes the carbon productivity of the region and the surrounding areas, and the industrial structure of the secondary industry is inhibiting the carbon productivity of the region and the surrounding areas. Finally, suggestions are put forward from five convenient aspects:improving and applying carbon productivity indicators, formulating emission reduction policies according to local conditions, developing industrial clusters according to local resource endowment, improving local environmental indicators, and improving the carbon trading system. |
