Friction is an inevitable natural phenomenon,in order to reduce the effect of friction wear,the use of lubricating oil is an effective way to reduce friction,but the base oil to reduce wear effect is not very good,so it is necessary to add appropriate additives to improve the performance of lubricating oil.With the development of nanotechnology,nanomaterials as lubricant additives are more and more widely used,nickel-boron amorphous alloy and Nano-Copper are important Nano-metal materials,which have a wide range of application prospects in catalysis,electrical conductivity,thermal conductivity and lubrication,but nickel-boron amorphous alloy and Nano-Copper are easy to agglomerate,making it difficult to stably disperse in oil,thus affecting its corresponding function.The research and development of oil-soluble nickel-boron amorphous alloy and oil-soluble Nano-Copper preparation technology has important scientific significance and wide application prospects.In this paper,oil-soluble nickel-boron amorphous alloy was prepared by liquid phase reduction using sodium borohydride,nickel acetate and different surfactants.The effects of surfactant modification on the dispersion stability of nickel-boron amorphous alloy in 150N base oil and the effects of different amounts of nickel-boron amorphous alloy as lubricant additives on wear resistance were studied.It had been shown that the ickel-boron amorphous alloy modified by polyvinyl pyrrolidone(PVP)and polymeric block polymer(surfactant,industrial product,shortened as 4103A)containing acid groups can disperse well in 150N base oil.When the atomic ratio of nickel to boron was n(Ni):n(B)=1:3,the mass ratio of nickel to PVP was m(Ni):m(PVP)=1:3,and the addition of 4103A was 2.5%,the nickel-boron amorphous alloy had better dispersion stability in 150N base oil.According to the average spot diameter,last nonseizure load PB and weld point PD,the nickel-boron amorphous alloy as lubricating oil additive had better wear resistance when the additive amount was 0.1%.The analysis showed that the nickel-boron amorphous alloy improved the wear resistance of 150N base oil through rolling bearing effect and film-forming mechanism.XRD results showed that the synthesized Ni-B alloy is amorphous.By SEM and TEM analysis,the surface morphology of nickel-boron amorphous alloy was spherical or nearly spherical.By TEM,XPS and TG analysis,PVP was successfully coated on the nickel-boron amorphous alloy surface and the nickel-boron amorphous alloy coated with PVP had better thermal stability.In this paper,oil-soluble Nano-copper was prepared by liquid phase reduction method using anhydrous copper sulfate,ascorbic acid and surfactant.The effects of surfactant modification on the dispersion stability of 150N base oil and the effects of different amounts of Nano-copper as lubricating oil additive on wear resistance were studied.Through gravity sedimentation test,it was found that the modification of n-Hexadecylphosphonic Acid can make the Nano-copper better dispersed in 150N base oil,when the molar ratio of anhydrous copper sulfate to ascorbic acid is n(Cu SO4):n(C6H8O6)=1:3,the molar concentration of anhydrous copper sulfate was 0.2 mol/L and the n-Hexadecylphosphonic Acid was 0.062g,the dispersion stability of Nano-copper in 150N base oil was relatively good.According to the measurement of average spot diameter,last nonseizure load PBand weld point PD,n-Hexadecylphosphonic Acid modified Nano-copper had better wear resistance as lubricating oil additive when the addition amount was 0.5%.The analysis showed that Nano-copper improved the wear resistance of 150N base oil through rolling bearing effect and self-healing mechanism.The XRD results showed that the Nano-copper synthesized without surfactant as protective agent was easy to be oxidized to Cu2O,while the Nano-copper modified by surfactant wasn’t oxidized.By SEM and TEM analysis showed that the surface morphology of n-Hexadecylphosphonic Acid coated Nano-copper was chrysanthemum shape.By TEM,XPS and TG analysis,n-Hexadecylphosphonic Acid was successfully coated on the surface of Nano-copper and the Nano-copper coated with n-Hexadecylphosphonic Acid had better thermal stability.
