Trade Openness And Green Total Factor Productivity

In the context of trade openness and green development,promoting high-quality trade development,efficient energy utilization,and strengthening ecological and environmental protection have become important goals for China’s economic and social development.With the rapid development of the economy,the investment in energy production is increasing day by day,and environmental issues are increasingly prominent.How to improve the green all factor production efficiency is crucial for balancing economic and environmental benefits.Therefore,to promote high-quality and sustainable development of China’s economy,it is necessary to focus on green and enhance green total factor productivity.Trade openness is an important factor affecting the development of green total factor productivity,and exploring the interaction between the two has practical significance for promoting the development of green economy.Firstly,based on the analysis of the interaction mechanism between trade openness and green total factor productivity,this article selects panel data from 30 provinces in China from 2004 to 2019,uses the SBM model method to construct a ML index to measure green total factor productivity in various regions,and adds variables such as human capital and technological progress to construct a PVAR model to explore the impact response relationship and contribution of variables to trade openness and green total factor productivity.The results show that:(1)From the perspective of the current situation of green total factor productivity in various regions of China,in terms of time dimension,the level of green total factor productivity in China presents an upward trend;In the spatial dimension,the average green total factor productivity in the eastern region is significantly higher than that in the northeast,west,and central regions;(2)From the perspective of impact mechanism,there is a significant positive effect between trade openness and green total factor productivity;(3)From the empirical test,the interaction coefficients between trade openness and green total factor productivity are significantly positive,and human capital and technological progress have a certain inhibitory effect on green total factor productivity.To sum up,this article aims to improve the efficiency of green total factor production,and based on theoretical and empirical analysis,puts forward suggestions from the national,government,and enterprise levels.It aims to promote green all-factor production efficiency to a higher level,and achieve a higher level of openness to promote high-quality development.
