Research On The Application Of Traditional Ink Art In Xuan Writing-brush Packaging Design

In its long history of more than two thousand years,Xuan Writing-brush has experienced a tortuous fluctuation from magnificence to gloominess and then to new glory again with a strong vitality.Xuan Writing-brush with the embodiment of high-quality raw materials,exquisite craftsmanship and local characteristic culture,deserves the reputation of “the King of Writing-brush”,being the first in Four Treasures of the Study in China.As an art treasure in the treasure house of the Chinese nation,Xuan Writing-brush not only reflects the wisdoms and crafts of ancient Chinese people,but also reveals its unique artistic and cultural value.It is urgent for future generations to inherit and carry forward this ancient craft.At the same time,under the background that our country vigorously promotes the innovation of traditional culture,it is a topic worthy of in-depth study to explore how to modernize and innovate the traditional culture,thus the traditional culture with the brand strength and the era spirit keeping pace with the times.Firstly,this thesis digs deep into the cultural connotation of Xuan Writing-brush,systematically combs and studies the historical development and production process of Xuan Writing-brush,comparing and analyzing the artistic characteristics of different brands of writing brushes from four aspects: its birth place,its origin,production process and raw materials,with the summary of its advantages,disadvantages,opportunities and threats.Secondly,the concepts,connotations and characteristics of ink art and packaging design are explored respectively,with the excellent packaging design in the market taken as an example to analyze the concrete application strategies of traditional ink art in packaging design from four angles: calligraphy,ink painting,ink pattern and ink artistic conception.Thirdly,by investigating the present situation of Xuan Writing-brush packaging,comparing and analyzing the four famous pen packaging,the shortcomings of the existing Xuan Writing-brush packaging are summarized by means of collecting questionnaires and surveys by consumers to clarify the innovative design orientations and principles with the integration of ink painting art and Xuan Writing-brush packaging.Finally,the thesis focuses on three aspects: the regional elements in Jingxian County,the production technology of Xuan Writing-brush and the characteristic attributes of Xuan Writing-brush.These visual elements,extracted and reorganized in the form of traditional ink painting art,are applied to the packaging design of Xuan Writing-brush.Taking another intangible cultural heritage rice paper as the object,the remarkable texture is extracted as the surface texture of Xuan Writing-brush packaging,thus realizing the innovative design of Xuan Writing-brush series packaging.Novel packaging design not only needs to capture the attention of consumers visually,but also can reflect and spread the cultural connotation and inherent attributes of products.Confucian cultural thoughts contained in Xuan Writing-brush are consistent with the characteristics of harmony between man and nature advocated by ink painting art.The application of ink painting art to Xuan Writing-brush packaging highlights the unique artistic and cultural value of Xuan Writing-brush,meeting the era needs,truly reflecting the cultural value of Xuan Writing-brush packaging,broadening the inheritance path of Xuan Writing-brush culture to make this culture breathe.
