Modular Children’s Furniture Fesign Based On The Sustainable Concept

After years of development,China’s children’s furniture industry has completed the transformation from scratch and produced some well-known brands.With the upgrading of consumption and the opening of the two-child and three-child policies,the scale of the children’s furniture market continues to expand,and the purchase trend of consumers shows a trend of personalization,diversification and quality.However,at present,the sustainability of children’s furniture is poor,and the children’s furniture industry as a whole still stays at the basic level of suitable scale,rich appearance and safety,and there is even design plagiarism and copying in the low-end market,and the quality of furniture is uneven.Therefore,the research motivation of this project is to study the sustainable design and application of children’s furniture,with the aim of prolonging the use cycle of children’s furniture,improving the reliability,fun and ease of use of children’s furniture,and providing new solutions for the phenomenon of children’s furniture being discarded.This paper takes children and children’s furniture as the research object,sustainable development as the design goal,and modular design as the methodological means.Firstly,the research status of children’s furniture is summarized,the basic elements such as function,shape,material,color,man-machine and other basic elements of children’s furniture design are analyzed in detail,and the principles of health and safety,practicality and comfort,experience and fun,nurturing and growth that children’s furniture should follow in the design are proposed,and the existing problems of children’s furniture design are analyzed and summarized.Secondly,the changing characteristics of children’s physiology and psychology at different stages were analyzed,and combined with the use scenarios of furniture,the use needs of children were determined,that is,children’s furniture needs to be sustainable in time,space and emotions.Then,the modular design method is discussed,the advantages and characteristics of modular design are analyzed,the general method of modular design is proposed,and the modular design is combined with the sustainable concept to summarize the sustainable design methods of modular children’s furniture four types of modular children’s furniture: size extension,functional conversion,polysemy furniture and part-based design.Finally,the sustainability of children’s furniture design is analyzed,according to the design needs and design goals,the design positioning of children’s furniture is determined,the design practice of children’s furniture is carried out,and a modular children’s furniture is designed,and the components of this design can be combined to a great extent freely,and different types and sizes of furniture are formed according to the actual needs of users.It provides a new practical direction for the sustainable design of modular children’s furniture.
