Research On Measurement And Driving Factors Of Green Total Factor Productivity In China’s Manufacturing Industry

At present,under the background of high-quality development of China’s economy,promoting the strategic policy of transforming the mode of economic development and vigorously developing low-carbon economy,improving green total factor productivity has undoubtedly become a key factor in the process of industrial transformation and upgrading.As the key and foundation of national competitiveness enhancement,manufacturing industry plays an important role in promoting the development of national economy.How to scientifically and reasonably evaluate the level of green total factor productivity of manufacturing industry in various regions of China,find out the factors of green total factor productivity of manufacturing industry,and further improve the quality of manufacturing industry development.These have important practical significance.Taking the 2007-2018 data of 30 provinces and cities in China as the research unit,this paper first constructed the input-output evaluation index system of GTFP in manufacturing industry of China.Then,the paper used the Super-SBM model and GML index model which considered the unexpected output to measure and analyze the GTFP in the national and the East,Central and Western regions from the static and dynamic perspectives.Finally,considering the regional differences,the Tobit model was introduced to analyze the driving factors of GTFP of manufacturing industry,and then compared the differences among the driving factors.Through the analysis of the measurement of GTFP and regression results,this paper put forward some countermeasures and suggestions to improve GTFP,so as to promote the green and high-quality development of manufacturing industry in various regions.The results show that the level of GTFP in manufacturing industry varies greatly in different provinces and regions,and the driving factors in different regions also have diversities.The GTFP of manufacturing industry in China is increasing constantly.However,the regional differences are too large.The static value of the Eastern region is higher than that of the Central and Western regions,but the growth rate of dynamic value in the Central region is the highest.On the whole,public investment and urbanization are the obvious promoting factors of GTFP of China’s manufacturing industry,while the intensity of environmental regulation,the level of opening up and labor cost play a restraining role.Other factors have no significant relationship with GTFP of China’s manufacturing industry,but in different regions,the driving factors have different degrees of influence on GTFP of China’s manufacturing industry.Therefore,the policy needs to be made according to the actual situation of the region.
