The bed is an essential object in the home,and as the proverb says,"A lifetime of being a man is half a lifetime in bed",it is an important piece of furniture in traditional wedding ceremonies,a carrier of ritual culture,and a blend of the formal language of human decency and the externalized language of traditional wedding customs.This study focuses on the artistic characteristics and cultural significance of the form of the wedding bed in northeastern Fujian Province from the late Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China,and examines the overall form and function of the wedding bed from the perspective of "the form is called the way,and the form is called the tool.The study also examines how the structure,shape,and pattern map the aesthetics,marriage,and family of traditional society.This paper adopts the technical route of "hiding rituals in vessels",aiming at exploring the spiritual and cultural connotations hidden behind the types of wedding beds in northeastern Fujian by classifying them,refining their composition,and exploring their constituent elements.Starting from the existing physical samples,this paper adopts the idea of starting from the whole to the parts and linking the parts to the whole.The first is the analysis of the overall shape of the wedding bed,indicating the name of each component to provide a basis for the later classification of the local form.Secondly,the production method of the wedding bed is introduced to clarify the production sequence of the local wedding bed and the differences with other regions,so as to highlight the characteristics of the wedding bed in the northeast of Fujian Province;again,the classification of local components,its modeling appearance,functional characteristics,historical tracing can effectively prove the connection between the overall construction system and the construction of the wedding bed.This paper further explores the graphic elements based on the modeling research,and summarizes that marriage culture is the main content of wedding beds in northeastern Fujian Province,and the related wedding custom "Manluhong" is also based on the theme of child rearing to carry out related wedding activities,and the study finds that the wedding bed is a carrier of spiritual civilization and material culture,and is a ritual expression as well as The study found that the wedding bed is a carrier of spiritual civilization and material culture,and is a physical expression of ritual and design ethics.Finally,through the progressive structure of "ware is also Tao,Tao is also ware",it is found that "and" is the core and main theme of the design concept of wedding beds in northeastern Fujian,and it is proposed that "hiding" is the characteristic of local wedding beds,which is the product of both traditional design system and cultural thinking.Traditional design system and cultural discernment under the dual influence of the product,thus found that the northeastern Fujian Province,the wedding bed of the creation of the concept of "from the appropriate" and "from the present",to avoid the homogenization of the rituals of the past,emphasizing the northeastern Fujian Province Wedding bed form art characteristics of "to and for the precious",concentrated embodiment of the production concept of each component.The wedding bed in the northeastern region of Fujian Province follows the principle of appropriateness in its production,and selects relevant forms and specifications as the ideal model for the rituals of husband and wife,with a view to achieving the goal of harmony between husband and wife,family harmony and social stability.
