The phenomenon of people born after 1990 living alone has become a hot social issue as a large number of young people leave their hometowns and flock to first-and second-tier cities.This group is called "empty-nest youth" because they live far away from home,live alone and are single."Empty nest" is an inevitable development stage of contemporary youth.It is of great practical significance to conduct design research on the characteristics and needs of "empty nest youth" group and provide solutions.This topic firstly combs the domestic and foreign research results on the affordance theory and "empty-nest youth" group,and summarizes the shortcomings and development trend.Then,from the perspective of design,based on the existing results of affordance theory and the deve lopment of household kitchen electricity products,the paper demonstrates the guiding significance and rationality of affordance theory in kitchen electricity product design.Next,the topic takes the kitchen life of "empty nest youth" as the entry point,and through the multi-dimensional and multi-turn design research of desktop,interview and household observation,it concludes that "empty nest youth" have specific problems in the use of kitchen electricity products,such as high idle rate,difficult storage and difficult personalized satisfaction.In addition,KANO model is used to verify the needs of "empty-nest youth" on product growth,functional flexibility and extensibility and product use experience.Finally,on the basis of the affordance theory,the concept of "product availability" is proposed and a design application model is constructed.Three design strategies for "empty nest youth" kitchen electric products are proposed from two aspects of the main and objective affordance connotation,namely,design co-creation,behavior constraint and experience optimization,so as to guide the system design practice of "Le Ban" solo refrigerator products.Design co-creation strategy through the modular design form for "empty nest youth" kitchen electricity independent function integration and product customization to provide an operable system process;Behavioral constraint and experience optimization strategy provide physical constraint and logical constraint for kitchen electricity design,as well as specific design methods to simplify complexity,sensory compensation,image correlation and scene correlation.The topic promotes the application of affordance in product design theoretically.In the design results to solve the "empty-nest youth" group for kitchen electricity growth,function expansion needs;Compared with the existing product "Le Ban" single refrigerator product system can better adapt to the differentiation characteristics of target users,and has a longer life cycle to save social resources.The product design mode based on design and co-creation also provides new ideas and methods for kitchen electric design and has certain reference value for the follow-up research in related fields.
