Excessive greenhouse gas emissions have caused global warming, which has gradually evolved into one of the topics of common concern for all mankind in the 21 st century. How to effectively reduce carbon emissions has become a global problem.China has always ranked first in total carbon emissions in the world and is facing enormous pressure to reduce emissions. Therefore,Chinese should actively formulate emission reduction policies to guide all industries to develop in a green and low-carbon direction. In Chinese industrial system, the construction industry as a pillar industry. On the one hand,it has promoted the rapid development of China’s economy and continuously improved the level of urbanization,on the other hand, there are a series of problems in the construction industry, such as high correlation, high energy consumption, and high emissions. Therefore, while pursuing the speed of development, the construction industry must improve the quality of development, reducing carbon emissions through technological innovation, energy structure adjustment, and other ways to ensure the smooth implementation of China’s carbon emission reduction strategy. At present, the development of the construction industry in various provinces in China is uneven, and the spatial heterogeneity of carbon emissions from the construction industry in various regions is relatively obvious. Therefore, clarifying the spatial pattern and formation mechanism of carbon emissions from the construction industry in various provinces of Chinese is conducive to formulating differentiated emission reduction policies. In this context, this article first establishes a carbon emission measurement model for the construction industry at each stage based on the life cycle assessment method, calculating the carbon emissions of the construction industry in 30 provinces, cities, and autonomous regions in China from 2005 to 2020,and analyzes the current situation of carbon emissions in China’s construction industry from three perspectives: different stages, different provinces, and different regions;Secondly, using a series of analytical tools such as spatial visualization methods, standard deviation ellipse methods, and exploratory spatial data analysis methods,we describe the temporal and spatial distribution of carbon emissions from China’s construction industry from multiple perspectives,as well as the relevant types and degrees of carbon emissions from each province’s construction industry; Finally, using a spatiotemporal geographic weighted regression model(GTWR),the impact of various factors on carbon emissions from China’s construction industry is analyzed, and targeted emission reduction recommendations are proposed. The research finds that:(1)China’s construction industry’s carbon emissions show a fluctuating upward trend, which can be divided into four stages in chronological order: steady growth stage, accelerated growth stage, fluctuation stage, and stable stage;(2)The overall carbon emissions from China’s construction industry are distributed in a northeast southwest pattern, with an increasing elliptical corner. The elliptical center of gravity is located in Henan Province, moving northwest, and finally moving south to Hubei Province;(3)Except for 2011 and 2012,carbon emissions from China’s construction industry showed a positive spatial correlation, with the spatial correlation first weakening and then strengthening;(4)The impact of various factors on carbon emissions from the construction industry presents significant temporal and spatial differences. On the whole, the impact of population size and machinery and equipment ratio on carbon emissions from the construction industry has positive and negative effects. The industrial scale and economic development level show a promoting effect, while the energy structure and urbanization rate show a inhibiting effect.
