Micro-bubble cyclone air flotation technology has been widely used in the efficient oil-water separation process of oily sewage in the process of petroleum and petrochemical production. It is of great significant to study the micro-action process of oil droplets and bubbles and the hydrodynamic characteristics of cyclone air flotation device to improve the oil-water separation efficiency and optimize the operating parameters and structural parameters. In this paper, the dynamic process of collision and adhesion between oil droplets and air bubbles in a vertical riser was experimentally studied by using high-speed cameras. The influence of different particle size ratios oil droplets and air bubbles particle sizes on the adhesion process and stable adhesion state was investigated. It was found that the collision and adhesion of air bubbles could effectively increase the flotation probability of oil phase. When the oil-gas particle size ratio is greater than 1.2,the stable adhesion mode of oil droplets and bubbles changes from oil droplet adhesion to oil film adhesion. At the same time, the Euler multiphase flow model is used to numerically simulate the oil-water separation process of the four-stage cyclone air flotation device, and the detailed flow law in the multi-stage cyclone air flotation device is obtained.Through the study of operating parameters and structure optimization of single-stage cyclone flotation device,it is determined that the device with 53 mm draft tube width and 9° draft tube inclination angle has the best separation effect. In addition, through the overall simulation analysis of the four-stage cyclone air flotation device, the influence law of split ratio on separation efficiency is investigated, and a structural optimization scheme of multi-stage cyclone air flotation device with an oil outlet extension pipe structure is proposed, which lays a theoretical foundation for industrial applications such as parameter optimization of multi-stage cyclone air flotation device.
