This thesis consisted of four chapters.The first chapter reviewed the advances in the chemical constituents and bioactivities of the genus Vitex.The second chapter discussed the phytochemistical studies on the seeds of Vitex.negundo var.cannabifolia.The third chapter presented the study of the antioxidant activity of the isolates.And in the last chapter,conclusion of this dissertation was made.V.negundo var.cannabifolia,well known traditional medicinal plants,has long been used for the treatment of various diseases,such as injury,cough,hernia and gynaecopathia in traditional Chinese medicine.In the course of searching for more new natural products with biological activities,we systematically investigated the 80%EtOH extract of the seeds of V.negundo,which led to the isolation and identification of 23 lignans(可以在这里写一下各种类型),including a new one,vitexdoin F(1*).The known lignans were identified as vitedoin A(2),3,4-dihydro-4-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-3-(hydroxymethyl)-6,7-dimethoxy-(3R,4S)-2-naphthalene carboxaldehyde(3),6-hydroxy-4-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-3-hydroxymethyl-7-methoxy-3,4-dihydro-2-naphthaldehyde(4),vitexdoin A(5),1,2-dihydro-7-hydroxy-1-(4-hydroxy-3-mrthoxyphenyl)-3-(hydroxymethyl)-6-methoxy(1S,2R)-2-naphthalenecarboxaldehyde(6),and negundin B(7),vitexdoin E(8),vitrofolal F(9),vitexdoin C(10),vitrofolal B(11),vitexdoin D(12),vitrofolal E(13),vitexdoin B(14),vitrofolal A(15),6-hydroxy-4-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-7-methoxy-naphtho[2,3-c]furan-1,3-dione(16),detetrahydroconidendrin(17),4-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-6-hydroxy-5methoxy-naphtho[2,3-c]furan-1(3H)-one(18),4-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-6-hydroxy-7methoxy-naphtho[2,3-c]furan-1(3H)-one(19),vitedoamine A(20),vitelignin A(21),neosesamin(22),and paulownin(23).According to the bioactivity studies on the seeds of V.negundo var.cannabifolia,the isolated lignans which occupy 2-3 hydroxyl groups may be related with the antioxidant activity.DPPH radical scavenging effect was used to test the antioxidant activity.It showed that phenolic hydroxyl group maybe the crucial group of radical scavenging activity.
