| Objective:To investigate the relationship of platelet/lymphocyte ratio(PLR)and neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio(NLR)with protein energy wasting(PEW)in continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis(CAPD)patients. Methods:A cross-sectional study was used to analyze 295 adult patients with CAPD who were treated in the department of nephrology of the second affiliated hospital of Guangxi Medical University from January 2017 to April2021.According to the diagnostic criteria of International Society of Renal Nutrition and Metabolism(ISRNM),patients were divided into PEW group and non-PEW group, and the affecting factors for PEW were compared between the two groups.Binary logistic regression was used to analyze the independent influencing factors of PEW.Receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC)was used to assess the value of PLR or NLR for predicting PEW in CAPD patients.Results:1.A total of 295 subjects were included in the study, including 119males and 176 females. They were(49.1±13.1)years old(19-79 years old). The prevalence of PEW was 29.8%(88/295).The age,PLR,HCO3~-in the PEW group was higher than that in the non-PEW group while the parathyroid hormone was lower, respectively, which showed significantly statistical difference(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in NLR between the two groups(P=0.173).2.Binary logistic regression analysis showed that PLR was an independent risk factor for PEW in CAPD patients(OR=1.002,95%CI:1.000~1.005,P=0.046).After adjusting for age and dialysis duration,PLR was still an independent influencing factor of PEW(OR=1.003,95%CI:1.001~1.005,P=0.007).3.ROC curve showed that the best cut-off value of PLR for predicting PEW in CAPD patients is 146.7(AUC=0.617,95%CI:0.548~0.686,P=0.001),with the sensitivity 68.2%,specificity 50.2%.Conclusion:Only PLR was an independent risk factor and predictive factor for PEW in CAPD while NLR was not associated with the development of PEW. |
