Objective:Purpose:To investigate the correlation between plasma CTRP5 level and type 2 diabetes mellitus and carotid atherosclerosis in Yanbian population.Subjects and methods:The participants of the project were patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus attending the Affiliated Hospital of Yanbian University in Yanbian area, and healthy people were used as the control group. The 196 patients with T2DM were classified into two different groups:T2DM patients with combined carotid atherosclerosis(CAS group,132 patients)and T2DM patients without carotid atherosclerosis(NCAS group,64 patients).Healthy subjects were used as the control group(NGT group,71 cases).Fasting blood samples were collected on the morning of the second day after admission, and some blood samples were determined for biochemical plasma CTRP5 levels were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.Carotid IMT value≥1.0mm and carotid plaque were detected by carotid Doppler ultrasonography after admission. The risk factors for T2DM complicated with carotid atherosclerosis were determined by comparing the above indexes among the three groups. All data were analyzed by SPSS26.0 and Medcalc software.Correlation adopts linear correlation or rank correlation. The influencing factors of CTRP5 were linear regression, and the influencing factors of atherosclerosis were ordered multi-classification logistics regression analysis.Diagnostic tests were analyzed using ROC curves.p<0.05 was determined to be statistically significant.Results:1.The age of the NCAS group was lower than that of the NGT group, but the weight,BMI,SBP,and DBP levels were higher than that of the NGT group, and this difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The percentage of males in the CAS group was lower than that of the NGT group, while the age, weight,BMI,SBP,and DBP levels were higher than that of the NGT group, and the age, disease duration, weight, and SBP levels in the CAS group were higher than those in the NACS group, and this discrepancy was considered statistically significant(P<0.05).2.The levels of FPG,TG,and LDL-C were higher in the NCAS and CAS groups than in the NGT group, while the levels of HDL-C and CREA were lower between NGT group and NCAS group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).3.CTPR5 levels were higher in both the CAS and NCAS groups than in the NGT group, and CTPR5 levels were higher in the CAS group than in the NCAS group, with statistical significance(P<0.01).4.The diagnostic value of PLASMA CTRP5 levels for T2DM was analyzed by ROC curve.Area under the curve was 0.787,sensitivity was 46.88%,specificity was 100%,and critical value was 7.81.The area under the curve of plasma CTRP5 level for the diagnosis of CAS in diabetic patients was 0.658,the sensitivity was 81.68%,specificity was 48.44%,and the threshold value is 6.94.5.Plasma CTRP5 was positively correlated with age, body weight,BMI,SBP,DBP,FPG,TG,LDL-C,and negatively correlated with HDL-C(P<0.05).6.The influencing factors of CTRP5 are age,BMI,SBP and FPG.7.The influencing factors of T2DM combined with CAS are CTRP5 level, age, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure,FPG,TG and LDLC,which are positively correlated with CAS,so it can be known that they are risk factors of carotid atherosclerosis.Conclusion:1.Age,BMI,SBP and FPG are the risk factors affecting the level of ctrp5.2.Plasma CTRP5 is a risk factor for diabetes mellitus complicated with carotid atherosclerosis, which may promote the occurrence of carotid atherosclerosis.CTRP5 has diagnostic significance for type 2 diabetes mellitus and carotid atherosclerosis, and can be used as a new biological marker.
