| ObjectiveThis subject observed the clinical efficacy of modified Banxia Houpu Decoction in the treatment of children’s upper airway cough syndrome of Wind-phlegm Retention Lung Type,and objectively evaluated the effectiveness and short-term recurrence of modified Banxia Houpu Decoction in the treatment of children’s upper airway cough syndrome of Wind-phlegm Retention Lung Type,in order to enrich the clinical treatment plan.MethodsFrom January 2021 to September 2021,64 children who were treated in the pediatric clinic of Xiamen Hospital of traditional Chinese Medicine Affiliated to Fujian University of traditional Chinese medicine and whose basic disease was allergic rhinitis and met the diagnosis of upper airway cough syndrome of Wind-phlegm Retention Lung Type were randomly divided into observation group and control group,with 32 cases in each group.The observation group was treated with modified Banxia Houpu Decoction,while the control group was treated with Mometasone Furoate Nasal Spray nasal spray for 4 weeks.The general information of children was recorded before treatment.The TCM syndrome scores were evaluated and recorded before treatment,2 weeks after treatment and 4 weeks after treatment.The data were statistically processed to analyze and evaluate the difference between the two groups.After treatment,the children with an effective rate of ≥50% were followed up for 2 months.The recurrence rates of the two groups were statistically processed,and the recurrence of the two groups were analyzed.ResultsA total of 64 children were included in this study.63 cases completed the foot treatment and entered the final statistical analysis,including 32 cases in the observation group and 31 cases in the control group.The specific research results are as follows:1.Total curative effect: the total effective rate of the observation group was 93.75%,and that of the control group was 83.87%,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);2.TCM syndrome score: analyze the changes of total TCM syndrome score,main symptoms(cough,expectoration),secondary symptoms(nasal congestion,runny nose,pharyngeal itching)and pharyngeal signs(posterior pharyngeal wall secretion,posterior pharyngeal wall follicle)of the two groups before treatment,2 weeks after treatment and 4weeks after treatment.The comparison within the group showed that the difference between TCM syndrome score of the two groups before treatment,2 weeks after treatment and 4weeks after treatment was statistically significant(P<0.05),and the curative effect of treatment for 4 weeks was better than that of treatment for 2 weeks.The comparison between the two groups showed that after 2 weeks of treatment,the curative effect of the observation group was significantly better than that of the control group in improving expectoration,posterior pharyngeal wall follicle symptoms and total score(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference between the two groups in improving cough,nasal congestion,runny nose,pharyngeal itching and posterior pharyngeal wall secretion(P>0.05).After 4 weeks of treatment,the curative effect of the observation group was significantly better than that of the control group in improving cough,expectoration,pharyngeal itching,posterior pharyngeal wall secretion,posterior pharyngeal wall follicle and total score(P<0.05).There was no significant difference between the two groups in improving nasal congestion and runny nose(P>0.05).3.Analysis of recurrence: one case recurred in the observation group,with a recurrence rate of 3.33%,and five cases recurred in the control group,with a recurrence rate of 21.74%,which was statistically significant(P<0.05).Two months after drug withdrawal,3 cases recurred in the observation group,with a recurrence rate of 10.00%,and 8 cases recurred in the control group,with a recurrence rate of 34.78%(P<0.05).ConclusionsThe clinical efficacy of modified Banxia Houpu Decoction in the treatment of children’s upper airway cough syndrome with Wind-phlegm Retention Lung Type is accurate,with low short-term recurrence rate,no adverse reactions occurred.It is worthy of clinical promotion. |
