| Objectives:We conducted a randomized controlled treatment trial of acupuncture Anti-Asiatic acupoint combined with topical flurbiprofen gel patch in patients with Gluteus medius syndrome(acute phase)to evaluate changes in patients’ pain and function related scores and values on elastography of Gluteus medius muscle, and to analyze the differences in efficacy between treatment and control groups,so as to provide a clinical basis for acupuncture Anti-Asiatic acupoint treatment of Gluteus medius syndrome(acute phase).Methods:68 patients with Gluteus medius syndrome(acute phase)who met the study criteria attending the outpatient clinic of People’s Hospital Affiliated to Fujian University of traditional Chinese Medicine were randomly divided into treatment and control groups, with 34 patients in each group. The treatment group was treated with acupuncture at the Anti-Asiatic point, once a day,5 times a week(acupuncture was prescribed to be performed Monday through Friday morning),each time retaining the needle for 30 min,for 2 weeks as 1 course. For the control group, topical flurbiprofen gel patches were applied, centered on the most painful site, twice daily for 12 hours per application, for 2 weeks as one course. The patients with Gluteus medius syndrome were evaluated using VAS score, score of symptoms of Gluteus medius injury, and ultrasound elastography detection of Gluteus medius muscle before and 2 weeks after treatment, and the data before and after treatment in both groups were analyzed using statistical study.Results:1.VAS Score: there were significant differences(P < 0.05)between the two groups in the VAS score within the group before and after treatment, which indicated that both treatments could reduce pain symptoms of patients with Gluteus medius syndrome(acute phase);(P <0.05)between the two treatment groups, indicating that the treatment group had better efficacy than the control group.2.Gluteus Medius Injury Symptom Score: the within group comparison of the symptom score of Gluteus medius injury between the two groups before and after treatment was significant(P < 0.05),which indicated that both treatments could relieve the pain symptoms of patients with Gluteus medius syndrome(acute phase),improve the function of Gluteus medius muscle of patients, and improve the quality of life of patients;(P < 0.05)between the two treatment groups, indicating that the treatment group had better efficacy than the control group.3.Ultrasound Elastography Values of the Gluteus medius muscle: there were significant differences(P < 0.05)between the two groups before and after treatment in the ultrasound elastography values of the Gluteus medius muscle on the affected side, which indicated that both groups could relieve the pathological tension of the Gluteus medius muscle on the affected side and improve the Ultrasound elastography Values of the Gluteus medius muscle on the affected side;(P < 0.05)between the two treatment groups, indicating that the treatment group had better efficacy than the control group.4.Evaluation Criteria Of Efficacy: after treatment, the clinical efficacy of two groups was evaluated and the difference between the groups was statistically significant(P < 0.05),which indicated that the treatment group was superior to the control group.Conclusions:1.Acupuncture on Anti-Asiatic acupoint can effectively improve pain symptoms and function of Gluteus medius muscle on the lesion side in patients with Gluteus medius syndrome(acute phase),and the efficacy is better than that in the control group.2.Acupuncture on counter Anti-Asiatic acupoint can effectively relieve the pathological tension of Gluteus medius muscle on the lesion side in patients with this disease and improve the value of Ultrasound elastography of Gluteus medius muscle on the lesion side in patients, and the efficacy is better than that in the control group. |
