Objective:1)To compare the clinical efficacy of recombinant human growth hormone(rh GH)in the treatment of childhood growth hormone deficiency(GHD)and idiopathic short stature(ISS)in children;2)Assess the changes in metabolic parameters(blood glucose, thyroid function, liver function)during rh GH treatment, and evaluate the safety of rh GH treatment;3)To investigate the effect of short stature on children’s anxiety, and to observe whether anxiety improves after rh GH treatment. Methods:A total of 60 children who were diagnosed with short stature and received rh GH treatment in the Hospital from September 2019 to December 2020 were selected and divided into the following two groups: GHD group,ISS group,30 patients in each groups,A one-year observation was carried out,and the changes in growth data and metabolic indexes of all children were compared before treatment and at 3,6,9,and 12 months of treatment, and their therapeutic effect, safety, and changes in metabolic parameters before and after treatment were compared. The social anxiety scale was performed on the children before and after treatment to evaluate the effect of rh GH treatment on the children’s mental health.Results:1)Growth dataAfter treatment, the GV,Ht SDS,IGF-1,and ALP of the two groups were significantly higher than those before treatment. The difference is statistically significant(p<0.05);The GV of GHD group was significantly higher than that of ISS Group at 3,6,9 and12 months of treatment,The Ht SDS of GHD group was significantly higher than that of ISS Group at 6,9 and 12 months of treatment(p < 0.05);IGF-1 and ALP between the two groups had no significant difference(p > 0.05).2)Metabolic parametersThere was no significant difference in blood glucose,ALT,AST,FT3,FT4 and TSH between the two groups before and after treatment,There was no significant difference between the two groups(p > 0.05);3)Anxiety rating scaleAfter 12 months of treatment, the scores of social anxiety scale decreased significantly in both groups(p < 0.05),there was no significant difference between groups(p >0.05).4)Correlation analysis△IGF-1 was positively correlated with △GV and △Ht SDS,but negatively correlated with△ anxiety score. Conclusion:The clinical efficacy of rh GH in the treatment of GHD and ISS is definite, and it can effectively promote the growth of children with high safety, especially for children with GHD;rh GH replacement therapy has no significant effect on the metabolism of short stature, and can effectively improve the psychological anxiety state of children with short stature.
