Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of combining conventional acupuncture with intermuscular acupuncture on the starting and ending points of suboccipital muscles in the treatment of patients with cervical vertigo(CV),and to provide a more diverse and effective solution for the treatment of cervical vertigo with acupuncture therapy. Methods:A total of 64 patients with CV were selected and divided into treatment and control groups depending on a randomized controlled trial, with 32 patients in each group. In the control group, the conventional acupuncture method was used, while in the treatment group,on the basis of conventional acupuncture, intermuscular acupuncture was used to act on the starting and ending points of suboccipital muscles. The selected points were the ending point of OCI,the starting point of RCPma,the fusion of the ending points of RCPma and OCS,and the ending point of RCPmi.Both groups were dealt with once a day,6 times a week for 2 weeks.Cervical Vertigo Symptom And Function Assessment Scale(ESCV),Visual Analogue Scale(VAS),Dizziness Handicap Inventory(DHI)score and efficacy assessment were performed in the two groups before and after treatment,respectively.Results:1.Before treatment:the differences between the two groups of general information and the scores of each scale were not statistically significant(P>0.05)and were comparable.2.Before and after the treatment, the differences in the scores of each scale between the two groups were statistically significant(P<0.05)when compared within the groups.3.After 2 weeks of treatment, when comparing the treatment group with the control group, the ESCV scores of the patients in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group, and the VAS and DHI scores were lower instead, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05),and when comparing the individual ESCV scores, the differences between the two groups were statistically significant(P<0.05)in the three comparisons of vertigo, neck and shoulder pain, daily work and life, and not statistically significant(P>0.05)in the two comparisons of headache, psychological and social adjustment.4.Comparison of total efficiency:the total efficiency of the treatment group was 90.32%,while the control group was 80.65%,and the treatment group was significantly better than the control group, the difference between the total efficiency of two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.Both intermuscular acupuncture on suboccipital muscle starting and stopping points therapy and conventional acupuncture can effectively improve the clinical symptoms, relieve the pain and discomfort in the neck and occipital area, and improve the quality of life of patients with cervical vertigo, and intermuscular acupuncture on suboccipital muscle starting and stopping points therapy is better than conventional acupuncture.2.The clinical efficacy of intermuscular acupuncture on suboccipital muscle starting and stopping points therapy for cervical vertigo is better than that of conventional acupuncture.
