The Impact Of Commercial Health Insurance On The Consumption Of Urban Residents

With the continuous development of economic globalization,China’s economy has gradually grown steadily.As one of the troikas driving the economy,consumption plays an irreplaceable role in economic development.However,in recent years,China’s economic growth has shown a downward trend,and the vigorous development of the insurance industry has made it a potential force to promote economic development.In today’s growing development in China,health has gradually become the pursuit of people.Therefore,combined with the actual national conditions of our country,this paper explores the impact of commercial health insurance on the consumption of urban residents.In this paper,we take the interprovincial panel data of 31 provinces and cities in China(excluding Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan)from 2011 to 2020 as a sample to construct a static and dynamic panel regression analysis model.Through empirical research,it is found that the impact of commercial health insurance on the consumption of urban residents is positive,that is,the development of commercial health insurance can promote the consumption of urban residents.In addition,the study also came to the following conclusions: First,in the context of population aging,the growing medical and health services of the elderly can promote the consumption of the elderly population,drive the silver economy,and promote the consumption of urban residents.Second,based on preventive savings,in order to reduce uncertainty,people scientifically disperse the health risks that may be faced in the future,and purchase commercial health insurance while reducing preventive savings and increasing consumption.Third,under the dimension of basic medical security,commercial health insurance plays a role that cannot be ignored as a supplementary component of the medical service system,supplementing the basic medical insurance of society,improving the quality of medical and health services,expanding the level of medical security,meeting the people’s growing demand for medical services,and promoting the growth of consumption.Finally,relevant opinions were put forward on the results of this study,with a view to promoting consumption through the development of commercial health insurance and promoting the rapid growth of the national economy.
