| Objective In the current study,we aimed to analyze the production behavior and financial performance of stakeholders from the perspective of value chain,and to provide basis for improving the quality of Platycodon grandiflorum(Jacq)A.DC and improving the interests of stakeholders.Platycodin D,pesticide residues and heavy metals collected from different producing areas were analyzed by chemical analysis,and then the quality of Platycodon grandiflorum(Jacq)A.DC was evaluated.Finally,autoregressive integrated moving average model(ARIMA)is used to predict the price trend of Platycodon grandiflorum(Jacq)A.DC in the next year,which can provide reference for stakeholders.Methods The main producing areas of Platycodon grandiflorum(Jacq)A.DC were investigated in Inner Mongolia,Shanxi,Hebei and Anhui provinces.Farmers,wholesalers,retailers and other stakeholders of Platycodon grandiflorum(Jacq)A.DC in major growing areas or trading centers were randomly selected to conduct interviews and collect their information of origin,market,price,quality.We also carried out field market research on two representative Chinese herbal medicine markets in Anguo and Bozhou.At the same time,through the form of telephone interview to Chengdu Lotus Pond Chinese herbal medicine market retailers for information collection.Furthermore,HPLC-ELSD was used to determine the content of platycodin D in 48 samples collected from the market and field,and the quality of Platycodon grandiflorum(Jacq)A.DC was analyzed by combining systematic clustering method and one-way ANOVA.The heavy metals and agricultural residues in Platycodon grandiflorum(Jacq)A.DC were determined by gas chromatography and atomic absorption spectrometry respectively.Moreover,this study collected the origin and market prices of Chifeng City,Inner Mongolia from 2016 to 2021.The ARIMA model in RStudio software was used to predict and analyze the origin and market price of Platycodon grandiflorum(Jacq)A.DC.Results 1.This study identified 10 different types of value chains in Platycodon grandiflorum(Jacq)A.DC production.The results showed that the quality of Platycodon grandiflorum(Jacq)A.DC was closely related to the interests of stakeholders.There are different levels of vertical integration in the value chain,which increases more consistent traceability and tighter supply chain regulation.2.The results showed that the content of platycodin D in 48 samples of Platycodon grandiflorum(Jacq)A.DC ranged from 0.12% to 0.38%,mainly concentrated in 0.20% to 0.30%.The regions with high content of platycodin D mainly concentrated in Sichuan,Chongqing City,Shanxi and Tongliao City of Inner Mongolia.The two batches with low content of platycodin D were mainly distributed in Anhui Province,and both samples were collected in e-commerce links.3.The results of one-way ANOVA showed that the content of platycodin D was correlated with the processing method,and the content of platycodin D without peeling was higher than that peeling.4.In this paper,ARIMA model is used to predict the price of Platycodon grandiflorum(Jacq)A.DC.The origin price of Platycodon grandiflorum(Jacq)A.DC in Chifeng area is between 34.5-37.0 yuan/kg.The market price is between 37.6-42.6 yuan/kg.In the future,the price of Platycodon grandiflorum(Jacq)A.DC of Chifeng is rising.Conclusion This study focuses on the value chain,quality and price of Platycodon grandiflorum(Jacq)A.DC.The results show that the quality of Platycodon grandiflorum(Jacq)A.DC and the income of stakeholders are associated with different types of value chains.At the same time,mature value chain to provide reliable quality products,to provide sufficient financial income for relevant stakeholders.Due to its positive impact on quality and income,developing a good vertically integrated value chain(farmer + business)is likely to become even more important in the near future.In addition,considering the good biological activity of of platycodon grandiflorum saponins in Platycodon grandiflorum(Jacq)A.DC,it is necessary to further study and explore the quality control of Platycodon grandiflorum(Jacq)A.DC and establish scientific and reasonable quality evaluation means.It is beneficial to analyze the quality of Platycodon grandiflorum(Jacq)A.DC accurately and promote the production and development of Platycodon grandiflorum(Jacq)A.DC.In addition,it is suggested to further update the processing equipment of Platycodon grandiflorum(Jacq)A.DC at the producing area and encourage sliced Platycodon grandiflorum(Jacq)A.DC at the producing area while fresh,so as to avoid resource waste,and further increase the content of platycodin D under the condition of ensuring the stability of medicinal materials... |
