| The doctor-patient trust in China arises from the special nature of medical services and the universality of social system.Doctor-patient trust is the bridge of mutual choice and dependence between doctors and patients, and is the basis for establishing a harmonious doctor-patient relationship.Whether the doctor-patient trust crisis can be alleviated or even finally solved is related to the orderly development of medical and health care and the sustainable development of society. The study of doctor-patient trust in this paper is based on this realistic problem.Guided by Giddens’ social trust theory, this study establishes that doctor-patient trust includes not only the interpersonal trust between doctors and patients, but also the systematic trust between doctors and patients in medical institutions, health care laws and government. On this basis, the interpersonal trust was used as an entry point to conduct a specific study on the doctor-patient trust in China through questionnaire survey method and semi-structured interview method.First, based on the Physician Trust in Patients Scale(PTPS)and the Wake Forest Trust in Physicians Scale(WFTPS),and combined with semi-structured interviews, the overall status of doctor-patient trust in China is clarified and the categories of doctor-patient trust are compared, and it can be found that the overall level of doctor-patient trust in China is low,and there are differences in the level of doctor-patient trust among individuals in different contexts.Secondly, the internal mechanism of doctor-patient trust crisis in China is integrated and analyzed, specifically including the causes of doctor-side trust,patient-side trust and system trust. The reasons affecting the doctor’s trust include the patient’s overly egotistical social mentality and the medical staff’s lowered self-importance.The causes of patient trust include the high implicit expectations of patients and the flattened understanding of modern medicine by medical personnel. The reasons affecting the trust of the doctor-patient system include the imperfect functioning mechanism of the hospital and the partial absence of the government in the medical industry. Finally, based on the mechanism of the doctor-patient trust crisis, the specific paths for building doctor-patient trust are proposed from four subjects: patients, medical personnel, hospitals and the government, based on the two levels of interpersonal trust and system trust. At the level of patients, patients should be guided to participate in the treatment process properly;at the level of doctors, the medical service level of medical personnel should be improved;at the level of hospitals, the operation mechanism of hospitals should be improved;at the level of government, the responsibility of government in the medical industry should be strengthened.Only by playing the active role of various subjects can the level of doctor-patient trust reach the ideal situation. |
