Objective:To observe TCM syndrome score,PSQI and SAS scores in pati ents with exuberant fire due to yin deficiency with insomnia with anxiety treated by acupuncture combined with Chinese medicine, evaluated its cli nical efficacy with alprazolam as the control group,so as to explore mor e effective clinical intervention for this disease.Methods:68 patients with insomnia with anxiety of exuberant fire due to yin deficiency were included in this study.and randomly divided into treatment group and control group. The final number of valid cases compl eted in this trial was 64,with 32 cases per group. The treatment group w as treatd with acupuncture at JiaJi for 0.3~0.5inch,once every other day, three times a week, combined with taking 200ml Chinese herbal medicine d aliy, one hour after meals in the morning and evening. The intervention m ethod used in the control group was oral 1 alprazolam tablet(0.4mg)at ev ery night before bedtime. Both course of treatment was 4 weeks. The TCM s yndrome score,PSQI and SAS scores of two groups before and after treatme nt were recorded in detail and accurately,SPSS26.0 was used to statistic ally analyze and compare the data collected in this study.and the differ ences in efficacy between the two groups were statistically analyzed.P<0.05 and P<0.01 were used as the criterion of statistical significant di fferences, but P<0.01 indicated more significant differences.Results:1.TCM syndrome score:There were significant differences be tween the two groups before and after treatment, indicating that the trea tment group was superior to the alprazolam group in reducing the symptoms of irritability, difficulty in falling asleep, hot flashes and night swe ats,dry mouth and throat, palpitations, lumbar and knee weakness and tot al score. Both intervention methods have the similar effect in improving restlessness, shallow sleep and difficulty in returning to sleep after wa king(P>0.05).2.PSQI score:The PSQI scores of patients in both groups before and after treatment were statistically significant when compared between and within groups, suggesting that both groups were able to improve their PSQ I scores, and the improvement in the treatment group was significantly be tter than that in the control group(P<0.01).3.SAS score:There was a statistically significant difference in SAS scores before and after treatment between the two groups(P<0.01),and t here was a statistically significant difference in SAS score difference b etween the groups(P<0.05),indicating that both treatment groups could s ignificantly relief anxiety levels, and the efficacy of anxiety relief in treatment group was overmatch the alprazolam group.4.Clinical efficacy:The effective rate of the treatment group was 93.75%and that of the control group was 81.35%,the difference was statis tically significant(P<0.05),which indicated that acupuncture combined wi th Chinese medicine had a definite clinical effect on insomnia with anxie ty of exuberant fire due to yin deficiency type, and was superior than ta king alprazolam alone. Conclusion:Acupuncture combined with herbal medicine can significant 1y alleviate sleep problems and anxiety symptoms of patients with insomni a and anxiety in a relatively short period of time. The treatment group h ad significant clinical efficacy and fewer adverse effects than the contr of group.
