Clinical Study On The Treatment Of Tinnitus With Liver-Fire Disturbance By Soothing The Liver-Qi And Regulating The Spirit Acupuncture Method

Objective:To observe the improvement of soothing the liver-qi and regulating the spirit acupuncture method on the liver-fire disturbance type tinnitus,and compared with traditional acupuncture therapy,hoping to find its therapeutic advantages,so as to better achieve the goal of mind-body harmonization treatment of tinnitus.Methods:Randomly dividing 66 patients into treatment group and control group according to random number table method,33 cases in each group.The treatment group received channeling the liver method and regulating the spirit acupuncture,while the control group received routine acupuncture treatment.Treatment was performed 6 times a week for 4 weeks.Statistical analysis of the alterations in the tinnitus Assessment Scale(TEQ),Tinnitus Disability Assessment Scale(THI),Traditional Chinese Medicine syndrome score,and self-rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)before and after treatment,as well as during follow-up,was conducted to evaluate the clinical efficacy and correlation between anxiety and tinnitus in two groups.Result:1.Of the 66 patients included,2 cases were shed in both the treatment and control groups,resulting in an actual sample size of 62 cases included.2.After acupuncture treatment,the total effective rate of the treatment group was 90.32%;while the control group’s was 74.19%.This difference was statistically significant,as evidenced by the Z=-2.943 test and P<0.05.3.After treatment and during follow-up visit,TEQ and THI scores of the two groups were decreased to different extents compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),which indicates that the therapies in the two groups have the effect of alleviating tinnitus symptoms,and the improvement degree in the treatment group is better,with statistical significance difference(P<0.05).4.The scores of TCM syndrome in both groups were statistically higher than those prior to acupuncture treatment(P<0.05);The score of the treatment group was lower than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).5.SAS scores of the two groups were significantly different from those before acupuncture treatment(P<0.05);The treatment group was significantly better in improving anxiety and negative emotions,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).6.There was a significant positive correlation between the anxiety and the severity of tinnitus after the treatment of Shugan regulating Shen acupuncture(vs=0.819>0,P<0.01).Conclusion:The efficacy of both the liver method of soothing and the regulation of spirit,as well as regular acupuncture treatment,can be seen to ameliorate the tinnitus symptoms,liver fire disturbance syndrome and accompanying anxiety of patients.Compared with the routine acupuncture treatment,soothing the liver method and regulating the spirit has a better therapeutic effect,and the long-term curative effect after follow-up has been notably enhanced.
