Objective To understand the status quo of infectious diseases health literacy(IDSHL)of college students in Jinzhou, explore its influencing factors under the background of COVID-19 epidemic situation, and take the epidemic situation as an opportunity to provide theoretical basis for further improving college students’ health literacy, enhancing their awareness of infectious diseases prevention, improving infectious disease prevention measures and controlling the spread of infectious diseases. Methods Adopting stratified cluster sampling method, students from grade 1 to grade5 in three colleges and universities in Jinzhou were selected, and the questionnaire of public infectious disease prevention and control literacy level was used to investigate. At the same time, the degree of knowledge and behavior in COVID-19 was investigated by the questionnaire of COVID-19 epidemic situation, and the data were analyzed by SPSS21.0 software.Compare the differences in IDSHL level among college students in terms of gender, grade, major, origin, place of residence, whether they are only children, whether they like reading, monthly family income, father’s education level, mother’s education level, father’s occupation and mother’s occupation.Multivariate Logistic regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of infectious disease health literacy.Spearman rank correlation was used to analyze the correlation between the health literacy level of infectious diseases and the information related to the epidemic situation in COVID-19.Results1.On the overall level, the number of people with IDSHL is 399,with a possession rate of 22.14%.Eleven general features such as different majors, grades, and places of origin, and seven epidemic information features such as information about different attention and understanding of COVID-19 epidemic have statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Among the five dimensions of IDSHL,the possession rate of consciousness dimension is 73.64%,among which 11 general features and 7epidemic information features have statistically significant differences(P<0.05);The rate of knowledge dimension was 27.25%,among which the IDSHL differences of 11 general features and 6 epidemic information features were statistically significant(P<0.05).24.00% have skills, among which there are 11 general features and 6 epidemic information features have statistically significant differences in IDSHL(P<0.05).The possession rate of behavior dimension was 40.73%,and the IDSHL differences of 10 general features and 6epidemic information features were statistically significant(P<0.05).The rate of acquiring and understanding information was 53.11%,and there were significant differences in IDSHL among 6 general features and 7 epidemic information features(P<0.05).2.Multi-factor analysis shows that the major, grade residence, place of origin, only child, reading preference, family monthly income, parents’ education level and parents’ occupation are the influencing factors of IDSHL,among which medical major, senior grade except sophomore, town, eastern place of origin, only child, reading preference, high family monthly income, parents’ high education level except junior high school, employees of government agencies and institutions in parents’ occupation, etc. In the dimension of consciousness, the IDSHL of 18 variables, such as medical specialty,is higher(P<0.05);In the dimension of knowledge, the IDSHL of 22 variables such as medical specialty is higher(P<0.05);In skill dimension,IDSHL of 23 variables such as medical specialty is higher(P<0.05);In behavioral dimension,IDSHL of 20 variables, such as medical specialty, was higher(P<0.05);The IDSHL of 10 variables, such as medical specialty,in the dimension of information acquisition and comprehension ability is higher(P<0.05).3.The number of college students who have participated in epidemic prevention work in COVID-19 is 572,accounting for 31.78% of the survey population. The correlation coefficient between participating in epidemic prevention activities and IDSHL is 0.515(P<0.05);The correlation coefficients between IDSHL and epidemic situation in COVID-19,knowledge of pathogens, transmission routes, protective measures and treatment principles, and related symptoms after infection were 0.585,0.512,0.476,0.471 and 0.136,respectively(P<0.05).Conclusion1.The IDSHL possession rate of college students in Jinzhou area is22.14%.2.The IDSHL possession rate has the highest consciousness dimension and the lowest skill dimension. The possession rates of different dimensions are not balanced.3.Major,grade,gender,place of residence, whether he is the only child, whether he likes reading, monthly family income, parents’ educational level, attention and understanding of epidemic information are the influencing factors of IDSHL.Medical students have higher IDSHL.4.The level of IDSHL is positively related to the attention, knowledge and enthusiasm of participating in epidemic prevention activities in COVID-19. |
