Research Objectives:With the change of people’s lifestyle and eating habits, the incidence rate of gastrointestinal tumors has increased year by year.Surgery is the main treatment method, and postoperative complications have become an important part of postoperative rehabilitation for patients.Among them, gastrointestinal dysfunction is one of the common and urgent problems to be solved after surgery. At present, conventional Western medicine treatment mainly includes gastrointestinal decompression, the application of drugs to promote gastrointestinal motility, and nutritional support. However, with the development of traditional Chinese medicine, acupoint application,as one of the commonly used methods of external treatment in traditional Chinese medicine, has gradually penetrated into clinical treatment work and achieved significant results. Therefore, this study focuses on patients undergoing surgical procedures in the department, using rhubarb powder and Wuzhuyu powder mixed with vinegar to apply on both sides of Zusanli and Sanyinjiao as intervention measures.A retrospective study was conducted to investigate the efficacy of acupoint application in promoting postoperative gastrointestinal function recovery in gastrointestinal tumors, providing clinical treatment ideas.1.Systematically evaluate the clinical efficacy of acupoint application in promoting postoperative gastrointestinal function recovery in gastrointestinal tumors through meta-analysis;2.Clinical retrospective study on the efficacy of acupoint application in promoting postoperative recovery of gastrointestinal function in patients with gastrointestinal tumors;3.Based on two research results, explore the theoretical basis of acupoint application promoting postoperative gastrointestinal function recovery in gastrointestinal tumors, and guide clinical treatment.Research Methods:Study 1: Retrieve the following databases through the format of "theme words+free words" : Chinese databases: CNKI,Wanfang Data,Weibo, and China Biomedical Literature Database;English databases: Pub Med,EMbase,The Cochrane Library,Web of Science; The search deadline is from the establishment of the database to November 2022;The main content of the search is a randomized controlled trial(RCT)of acupoint application promoting postoperative gastrointestinal function recovery in gastrointestinal tumors; Two researchers conducted literature screening based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria, and conducted quality evaluation and assessment of bias risk using the Cochrane system evaluator manual version 5.1.0 bias risk tool and the Jadad scale; After extracting the data, perform meta-analysis using Revman5.3 software and obtain the results.Study 2: Patients who were admitted to the General Surgery Department of Shandong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from September 2020 to September 2022 and diagnosed with gastric and colorectal cancer undergoing concurrent surgery were screened through our hospital’s medical record system.Corresponding case information was extracted and statistically analyzed using SPSS software.A retrospective study was conducted on the clinical efficacy of acupoint application in promoting postoperative gastrointestinal function recovery in gastrointestinal tumors.Study results:Study1:Acupoint application promotes the recovery of gastrointestinal function after surgery for gastrointestinal tumors, which is superior to conventional Western medicine treatment in terms of first exhaust time, first defecation time, first meal time, hospitalization days, and abdominal distension.First exhaust time [SMD=-1.14;95%CI(-1.51,-0.77);P<0.0001];First bowel movement time [SMD=-2.28;95%CI(-3.22,-1.33);P<0.00001];First eating time [SMD=-1.45;95%CI(-1.77,-1.13);P<0.00001];Hospitalization days [SMD=-2.25;95%CI(-2.68,-1.82);P<0.00001];Abdominal distension [SMD=-2.15;95%CI(-2.63,-1.67);P<0.00001].Study2:Statistical analysis shows that acupoint application has advantages in promoting the recovery of gastrointestinal function after gastrointestinal tumor surgery compared with conventional western medicine treatment alone. It can effectively shorten the time of patients’ first defecation and first exhaust after surgery, promote the recovery of bowel sounds, reduce the number of days in hospital, shorten the time of patients’ first eating after surgery, and increase the secretion of motilin and Gastrin at the same time.First bowel movement time Z=-4.564,P=0.00;First exhaust time Z=-4.025,P=0.00;Recovery time of intestinal sounds Z=-4.458,P=0.00;Hospitalization days Z=-6.598,P=0.00;First eating time t=-4972,P=0.001;Motilin count t=5.435,P=0.045;Gastrin count t=5.612,P=0.039.Research Conclusions:Study1:The meta-analysis results showed that acupoint application promotes the recovery of gastrointestinal function after surgery for gastrointestinal tumors.Compared with traditional Western medicine treatment alone, acupoint application has advantages in terms of first exhaust time, first defecation time, first meal time, hospitalization days, and abdominal distension.Study2:Statistical analysis shows that acupoint application promotes the recovery of gastrointestinal function after surgery for gastrointestinal tumors. There are advantages in terms of first defecation time, first exhaust time, recovery time of bowel sounds, hospitalization days, and first meal time compared to traditional Western medicine treatment alone.
