ObjectiveThe application value of ASQ-C(Age and Development Process Questionnaire Version 3-Chinese version)in outpatient treatment of children with "language retardation"was evaluated by using the local screening and evaluation diagnostic data, and the related risk factors affecting language retardation in children in the region were analyzed, and corresponding intervention measures were proposed. To provide a targeted, scientific and effective basis for addressing language retardation in children in this region.MethodsIn this study, convenience sampling was used to select children who were admitted to the Child Healthcare clinic of a certain hospital from February 2019 to February 2022 with the chief complaint of "language delay" as the research objects. The self-made general information questionnaire for children was used to conduct a descriptive analysis of the basic characteristics of the subjects, and then the Chinese revised version of Gesell Developmental Diagnosis Scale was used to evaluate the language development.the Ages and Stages Questionnaire-Third Edition Chinese Version was used to evaluate the experiment. Finally, univariate chi-square test,Fisher exact test and multivariate Logistic regression were used to analyze the influencing factors of children’s language delay.Results1.The incidence of language development delay was 61.54%,the average age was 29.60±3.68 months, and the male to female ratio was 2.58.2.In terms of gender, the incidence of language delay in boys(64.03%)was higher than that in girls(54.55%).From the analysis of gestational age,the incidence of language development delay in preterm infants(89.13%)was higher than that in full-term infants(57.38%).According to the analysis of birth weight, the incidence of language development delay in children with low birth weight(92.68%)was higher.3.The ASQ-C developmental screening scale could be clinically applied to screen children aged 24-36 months with "language delay" as the chief complaint. The sensitivity of ASQ-C was 92.59%,the specificity was 90.37%,and the false negative rate was 7.41%in children with "language delay" as the chief complaint. The false positive rate was 9.63%,the correct index was 0.83,the positive likelihood ratio was 9.62,and the negative likelihood ratio was 0.08.The consistency rate was 92.74%,with a good consistency(Kappa value 0.826,P<0.001).4.More outdoor exercise time, more parent-child reading time, less video time, and higher family economic income in parenting environment were significantly correlated with lower risk of child language delay;Males, preterm birth, and low birth weight were significantly associated with a lower risk of childhood language delay.Conclusion1.Primary medical institutions can use ASQ-C to monitor children’s language development and conduct regular standardized developmental screening, identify developmental risks early, and refer children with suspected developmental abnormalities found in the preliminary screening to higher level hospitals for further assessment, diagnosis, intervention and treatment.2.Children’s congenital factors and the nurture environment will have an impact on children’s language development. We should establish a health care system for prenatal and prenatal careand. At the same time, improve the rearing environment is an important part。3.Parents need to pay attention to children’s growth and development, and medical personnel can guide parents to observe children’s developmental behavior skills, timely detection and intervention of children’s development-related problems.
