Objeective:To explore the clinical efficacy of percutaneous curved vertebroplasty in the treatment of osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures by comparison with percutaneous vertebroplasty. Methods: A retrospective analysis of patients hospitalized in the spinal surgery department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January of 2021 to August of 2021.Forty patients were selected according to inclusion criteria and the included cases were divided into two groups according to the surgical procedure: 20 in PCVP,percutaneous curved vertebroplasty, and 20 in PVP,bilateral percutaneous vertebroplasty.General data were collected in both groups, including age, sex,BMI,length of surgery,C-arm fluoroscopy times, amount of cement injection and cement leakage rate.VAS scores and ODI scores before surgery,3 days after surgery and the last follow-up were collected by questionnaire. The changes of Cobb angle were measured according to the imaging data of patients before,3days after operation and the last follow-up.Results: A total of 40 patients were included in this study,including8 males and 32 females, with an age distribution range of 61 – 91 years. No significant difference in gender, age and BMI between the two groups(P> 0.05).The differences between the duration of surgery, amount of cement injection, and cement leakage rate(P <0.05).Comparison of postoperative efficacy indicators: the VAS score and ODI score in the three days and the last visit after the operation were statistically significant(P <0.05),but the two groups were compared with the above time points, and the difference was not statistically significant(P> 0.05).In terms of imaging findings, the Cobb angle was not pre-significant between the two groups(P> 0.05)),and the postoperative time points between the two groups were not statistically significant(P> 0.05).Conclusion: Percutaneous curved vertebroplasty and percutaneous vertebroplasty have similar short-term effects in the treatment of osteoporosis vertebral compression fractures, both of which can significantly relieve pain symptoms and improve dysfunction in patients with osteoporosis vertebral compression fractures, but PCVP is safer, less invasive and faster than traditional bilateral PVP.
