Objective:By observing the clinical effect of Dong’s Qi acupoint on sciatica secondary to lumbar disc herniation(LDH),this subject studies the clinical characteristics and advantages of Dong’s Qi acupoint in treating sciatica secondary to LDH,and provides a new clinical idea and more safe and effective treatment method for clinical treatment of sciatica secondary to LDH.Methods:60 cases of LDH secondary sciatica patients who met the inclusion criteria in the National Medical Hall,Hongzhong and acupuncture and moxibustion Outpatients of Ruikang Hospital affiliated to Guangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January to December 2022 were selected as the research objects.According to the random number table, they were divided into the treatment group(Dong’s Qi point group)and the control group(conventional acupuncture group),with 30 cases in each group. The treatment group was treated with acupuncture at Dong’s Qi point, while the control group was treated with routine acupuncture. Both groups were treated once a day for 10 consecutive days,a total of 1 course.Observe the curative effect after the treatment. The visual analog scale/score(VAS)and the Japanese Orthopaedic Association assessment treatment scores(JOA)of the two groups of patients before and after treatment were used as the efficacy observation indicators, and the efficacy evaluation criteria were formulated based on the "Criteria for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Traditional Chinese Medicine" and the improvement rate of JOA scores, and the statistical software SPSS26.0 was used to statistically analyze the above data, and the conclusion was reached,To evaluate the clinical effect of acupuncture at Dong’s Qi point on sciatica secondary to LDH.Results: 1.By December 2022,a total of 60 subjects were enrolled in this study, with no shedding cases during treatment, and 30 cases were collected in the final treatment group and control group respectively. The gender, age, course of disease and disease type of the two groups were statistically compared, and the results showed no statistical significance(P> 0.05),indicating that the data were comparable.2.VAS scores of the two groups before treatment showed no significant difference after comparison(P> 0.05);VAS scores before and after treatment were compared between the two groups, and the results indicated that there was a statistical difference(P < 0.05).VAS scores between the two groups after treatment were compared, and the results showed no statistical difference(P> 0.05).3.There was no significant difference in JOA scores between the two groups before treatment(P> 0.05);JOA scores before and after treatment were compared between the two groups, and the results indicated that there was a statistical difference(P < 0.05).The JOA score of the two groups after treatment was compared, indicating a statistical difference(P < 0.05).In addition, the scores of subjective symptoms, objective signs and restrictions on daily activities in JOA score after treatment were respectively compared, suggesting that there was no significant difference between the treatment group and the control group in improving subjective symptoms(P > 0.05),but the treatment group was better than the control group in improving objective signs and restrictions on daily activities(P< 0.05).4.The total effective rate of the treatment group was 93.3%,and the total effective rate of the control group was 83.3%,the difference was not statistically significant. Conclusion: 1.Dong’s Qi Point and conventional acupuncture are effective in treating sciatica secondary to LDH.2.The clinical efficacy of acupuncture at Dong’s Qi point in the treatment of sciatica secondary to LDH is similar to that of the conventional acupuncture group.3.Dong’s Qi Point has more advantages in improving objective signs and quality of life of patients with secondary sciatica of LDH,and is worthy of clinical implementation. Moreover,Dong’s Qi points are mostly selected below the limbs, elbows and knees, which is safer and more convenient in clinical practice.
