The Efficacy Of Foam Sclerosing Agents And Liquid Sclerosing Agents In The Treatment Of Internal Hemorrhoids:A Meta-analysis

Objective To systematically evaluate the efficacy of foam sclerosing agents and liquid sclerosing agents in the treatment of internal hemorrhoids,and to provide selection and evidence-based for clinical treatment.Research methodsCochrane Library,Pubmed,Web of science,CNKI,Wanfang,VIP and other databases were searched,literatures choose from the establishment of the database to October2022.Free words : internal hemorrhoids,hemorrhoids,sclerotherapy,foam sclerosing agents,liquid sclerosing agents,endoscopic therapy.According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria,literatures were screened and relevant data were extracted.Then we use Rev Man 5.3 software to analyze the effective rate,postoperative bleeding,postoperative pain,and dosage of sclerosing agents between foam sclerosing agents sclerosing agents and liquid sclerosing agents group while treat internal hemorrhoids.ResultsA total of 9 articles were included,all of which were randomized controlled clinical studies.A total of 1177 patients were included,including 604 in the experimental group and 573 in the control group.The results showed that the effective rate of foam sclerosing agents in the treatment of internal hemorrhoids was higher than that of liquid sclerosing agents,RR=1.10,95%CI=1.03-1.19,P=0.006;After 12 weeks of treatment,the effective rate of foam sclerosing agents was significantly higher than that of liquid sclerosing agents,RR=1.19,95%CI=1.10-1.28,P < 0.00001;The pain rate of patients with internal hemorrhoids treated with liquid sclerosing agents was significantly higher than that of foam sclerosing agents group,RR=0.38,95%CI=0.27-0.53,P < 0.00001.The postoperative bleeding rate of patients with internal hemorrhoids treated with liquid sclerosing agents was significantly higher than that of foam sclerosing agents group,RR=0.54,95%CI=0.40-0.75,P=0.0002.In the treatment of internal hemorrhoids surgery,the dose of sclerosing agents needed to be consumed in the liquid sclerosing agents group was higher than that in the foam sclerosing agents group,MD=-4.63,95%CI=-4.95--4.30,P < 0.00001.ConclusionsThe effective rate of foam sclerosing agents in the treatment of internal hemorrhoids is higher than that of liquid sclerosing agents.Compared with foam sclerosing agents group,liquid sclerosing agents group in the treatment of internal hemorrhoids after operation is more prone to bleeding and perianal pain,and consumes more sclerosing agents dose.Foam sclerosing agents is a more economical,efficient and less complicated treatment method with high safety,which is worthy of clinical application.
