| In August 2020,Xi Jinping,General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, gave an important instruction on the occasion of Chinese Physicians’ Day,emphasizing the important role of medical workers in the new pneumonia epidemic, the need to form a good social atmosphere of "respecting medicine and health",and to strengthen the professional beliefs of medical workers. It can be seen that improving the level of professional identity of nurses is important to promote the stability and high-quality development of China’s medical team.As the main reserve of nurses, the professional identity of senior nursing students directly affects the stability of nursing team development. However, senior nursing students have a serious career identity crisis, and a large number of senior nursing students lose their career enthusiasm or choose to quit the profession after internship, which has a negative impact on the healthy and sustainable development of China’s medical career. At present, the academic community has failed to pay attention to this special and important group of nurses, and on the other hand,it has failed to analyze the specific formation mechanism of nursing students’ professional identity, which makes it difficult to propose an effective cultivation path.Questions such as the formation mechanism of professional identity of senior nursing students and the targeted cultivation paths have become questions that need to be answered in order to improve the quality of cultivation of senior nursing students and stabilize the nursing workforce.Based on the above problems, this study builds a research framework for analyzing nursing students’ professional identity by absorbing the relevant research results on the influencing factors of nurses’ professional identity, with the help of the basic analysis logic of professional identity theory,social-ecological system theory and the corresponding viewpoints of Bourdieu’s practice theory.Meanwhile, senior nursing students Xiao A and Xiao B were selected as typical comparison cases, and the formation mechanism and cultivation path of senior nursing students’ professional identity were explored through deep description and analysis of the typical cases.A and B,who graduated from the same senior nursing school, had completely different career identity formation: during the pre-practicum stage,A was full of aspirations for the nursing career, while B was full of doubts;after the initial adaptation stage, the mid-term struggle and the later decision,A and B made different career choices from their initial career expectations.Little A decided to leave the nursing career, while Little B decided to choose to engage in the nursing career. The different choices of A and B indicate that career identity of nursing students is a complex process shaped by many influencing factors.Specifically, the inner circle of personal traits, the middle circle of action fields, and the outer circle of external social environment shaped the formation of career identity of A and B.First,in the inner circle, the corresponding personal traits directly influenced the degree of personal compatibility with the nursing career, which was shaped by the family, school, and hospital fields, and the influence of the corresponding fields on individuals was also shaped by the transmission of personal traits.Secondly,in the middle circle, the field of action directly shapes the professional identity of nursing students.Family is the main "social learning" field for nursing students before entering school and hospital, which directly influences their career expectations and judgments.Schools and hospitals are the organizational arenas where nursing students form specific career perceptions.Schools as educational arenas play an initial role in career initiation, where nursing students not only receive systematic vocational skills training, but also form corresponding career impressions and expectations. The hospital as a working field provides nursing students with real professional experience, and the teaching system, professional treatment and organizational atmosphere of the hospital directly influence nursing students’ career choice;finally,in terms of the outer circle, the social environment plays a supportive role for nursing students’ professional identity. On the one hand, national policies lead organizational changes in schools and hospitals, and on the other hand, social opinions guide families’ and nursing students’ individual perceptions of the general nursing work environment.Based on the above findings, the cultivation of nursing students’ professional identity requires the comprehensive efforts of multiple subjects and multiple mechanisms.First,it is necessary to stimulate the personal motivation of senior nursing students, including cultivating an appropriate professional personality and strengthening personal growth initiative in nursing learning;second,it is necessary to improve the career initiation education in senior nursing colleges in terms of career promotion, teacher quality, curriculum reform and teaching methods;third,it is necessary to promote the reform of the career system in hospitals for senior nursing students, including updating the teaching system, increasing internship subsidies, improving the career Fourth,it is necessary to strengthen the reasonable guidance of the society,to support the development of nursing profession by introducing corresponding national policies, and to create a good social atmosphere of respecting medicine and health by strengthening the reasonable guidance of the social opinion. |
