Objective In this study,the phenotypic characteristics of maxilla of Han Adults in Liaoning Province were studied by geometric morphology.Through the three-dimensional reconstruction of the CT data of the maxilla of Liaoning Han adults,the marker coordinates related to the phenotypic characteristics of the maxilla were obtained.Using the geometric morphological analysis method of Euclidean distance matrix analysis(EDMA),the phenotypic characteristics of the maxilla of Han Adults in Liaoning Province were analyzed,and the differences between men and women were compared.It provides basic data and theoretical research for rapid preliminary individual identification and kinship identification in forensic practice.Methods126 Han Adults in Liaoning Province(including 40 males and 86 females)were randomly selected for craniofacial 3D CT acquisition,and the CT was exported to DICOM format.After importing the data in this format into VG studio3.2 software for three-dimensional reconstruction,measure the three-dimensional coordinates of each sample.In order to ensure the reliable and repeatable positioning of measurement coordinate points,after the first measurement of all samples,20 samples were randomly selected for re measurement at an interval of one month.The results were tested by G value of reliability.G = 0.998 was obtained in this study,that is,it was confirmed that there was no difference between the two results.After that,the coordinate data is imported into EDMA,the European distance of a single sample and the form difference matrix(FDM)of men and women are analyzed by EST and from modules,the measured coordinate points are statistically analyzed,the corresponding maxillary phenotypic characteristics data are obtained,the maxillary phenotypic characteristics are analyzed,and the differences of male and female maxillary phenotypic characteristics are compared.Results1.There are significant differences in maxillary morphology between male and female adults of Liaoning Han nationality.2.The overall contour of the normal adult male of Liaoning Han nationality was larger than that of female.The results of bootstrap non-parametric test showed that T=1.272,P=0.011<0.05.Conclusions1.Using 3D helical CT data and VG studio software,the phenotypic structure of the maxilla can be completely reconstructed,avoiding the influence of spatial dimension factors on the measurement results,and ensuring accurate measurement.2.Summarized the phenotypic characteristics of the maxilla of Liaoning Han adults;there are significant differences in maxillary morphology and structure between men and women in Liaoning Han adults,and there is gender heteromorphism,which is for forensic gender identification in daily work,and rapid preliminary individual identification Provides reliable underlying data.
