Objectives:By comparing the measurement results of different softwares, and comparing the two measurement results of different surveyors, the accuracy and repeatability of the BMD measurement software based on Phantom-less QCT are evaluated, which proves the practicability of the software and provides the basis for the subsequent development of more clinical application functions related to bone density.Methods:1.64 patients’DICOM format data of lumbar spine CT imaging was randomly selected via specific filter criteria, and then transmitted to two different workstations for measurement, subsequently, the BMD data investigated by these two variable softwares were analyzed for correlation and consistency.2.A further selection on 64 patients was performs randomly,and21 patients were carried out for DXA examination. Moreover, the results of QCT and DXA measurements were converted into corresponding diagnosis(osteoporosis, reduced bone mass, normal bone mass)according to their respective diagnostic criteria, here, the results acting as a crucial factor to compare with their diagnostic effectiveness.3.Finally,thirty patients in 64patients were randomly selected and measured independently by three trained surveyors. Each patient was investigated for twice times to evaluate the consistency and repeatability of Bone’s FRAX software between two sepecific circumstances:within different surveyors and within different time periods performed by the same surveyor.Results:1.As a result, high correlation(r=1.000,1.000,1.000,P≤0.05)and consistency(the mean differences were 0.12,0.09 and 0.10 mg/cm~3,respectively,and all the mean differences were within the maximum error value of 10 mg/cm~3)can be given by PHILIPS Intelli Space Portal software and Bone’s FRAX software based on body mode QCT in male, female and all relevant subjects.2.The detection rates of osteoporosis measured by lumbar DXA,proximal femur DXA,comprehensive DXA and Bone’s FRAX software were carried out:28.57%,33.33%,42.86%and 66.67%,respectively.Furthermore,the detection rates of Bone’s FRAX software and lumbar DXA and proximal femur DXA were statistically significant(χ~2=8.729,7.583,P<0.05),but not the combined DXA detection rate(χ~2=2.976,P=0.226>0.05).3.Anova results of repeated measurements exhibited the truth that no statistical significance was exsited in the two measurements by three surveyors(P=0.54,0.35,0.96);The intra-group correlation coefficients showed that the BMD values of the three lumbar vertebrae were highly stable(ICC=0.998,0.998,1.000).The Cronbach’sαcoefficient of the mean BMD values of the three groups was 1.000,indicating high retest reliability. Conclusion:In conclusion,Bone’s FRAX software is highly consistent to Phlilps software in BMD measurement, thus it can role as a poweful supplement of Phlilps software in clinical usage. The detection rate of osteoporosis by using this software is highly equivalent to that of DXA,possing good repeatability, stability and reliability, and has clinical application value.
