| OBJECTIVE:Through blood flow restriction training(BFRT)for patients after Meniscus suture(MS),to observe its effect on the rehabilitation of lower limb functions. It provides reference for the clinical methods and means of functional rehabilitation of knee joint after MS,and lays a theoretical foundation for the scientific research of BFRT in functional rehabilitation after MS.METHODS:The Department of Neurospinal Rehabilitation and Sports Knee and Ankle of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Hospital recruited 50 patients who had not yet gained weight following meniscal injury suture, and according to inclusion and exclusion criteria, randomly divided them into experimental group(n = 25)and control group(n= 25),using conventional rehabilitation techniques. For a total of 6 weeks, both groups were 1 time/d,5 days/week.The thigh circumference at the top border of the patella at 10 cm in the non-training condition was measured in both groups before the intervention and after it had been in place for 2 weeks,4 weeks, and 6 weeks. Both groups had ultrasound measures of the quadriceps muscle thickness, knee Lysholm score evaluation, and Barthel index evaluation before to and during the intervention.Quadriceps endurance and balancing ability were evaluated in both groups following the 6 W intervention.RESULTS:(1)Pain visual analogue score(VAS)intra-group comparison: patients in the experimental group and the control group experienced substantially lower knee pain scores after 6 weeks of intervention(P <0.05).Comparison of the groups: There was no statistically significant difference in the knee pain scores between the experimental group and the control group prior to and during the intervention(P>0.05).(2)Knee joint swelling: intra-group comparison: both the experimental and control groups’ levels of knee swelling considerably decreased following a 6-week intervention(P <0.05).Comparison of the groups: There was no discernible difference in knee swelling severity between the experimental group and the control group prior to and during the intervention(P>0.05).(3)Thigh circumference: intra-group comparison: The thigh circumference(10cm on patella)was decreased in both the control group and the experimental group after 6W of intervention compared to before the intervention, with the control group continuing to decrease throughout the intervention while the experimental group slowly increasing after 2W of intervention. This difference between before and after the intervention was statistically significant(P <0.01).The analysis of the data between the groups revealed that there was no significant difference in thigh circumference(10 cm in the patella)prior to the intervention(P>0.05).The thigh circumference of the affected limb in the experimental group decreased by 1.2%compared with the intervention prior to the intervention after 6 w,while the thigh circumference of the affected limb in the control group decreased by 7.2% compared with the intervention prior to the intervention after 6 w int(P<0.05).(4)Quadriceps muscle thickness: It was discovered that both groups’ quadriceps muscle thickness significantly decreased following a 6-week intervention(P < 0.001).Before the intervention, there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05),and after 6 weeks of the intervention, there was a significant difference in RF and VL thickness(P<0.05),but not in VI or VM thickness(P>0.05).(5)Intra-group comparison using the Lysholm Score Scale: After a 6-week intervention, there was no statistically significant change in the two groups’ scores compared to the pre-intervention wallowing items(P>0.05),but the overall score and other scores considerably rose(P<0.001).Between-group comparison: After a 6-week intervention, the experimental group’s overall score significantly increased(P < 0.001),as did its scores for pain, climbing stairs, squatting, and instability(P<0.05).However,there was no statistically significant difference between the groups’ scores for swelling, support, hanglock,or claudication(P > 0.05).(6)Barthel index: Both groups’ scores were considerably higher after the 6 week intervention than they were before to it(P <0.001).Comparing the two groups: Before to the intervention, there was no discernible difference between the two(P>0.05),however the experimental group’s total Barthel index score following the 6 week intervention was considerably higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).(7)Quadriceps muscular endurance: intergroup comparison: Following a 6-week intervention, the experimental group’s quadriceps muscle endurance was significantly different from that of the control group(P <0.001).(8)Balancing function: comparison of the groups: Following a 6 week intervention, the experimental group’s arrival distance on the Y balance test was considerably greater than that of the control group(P< 0.01).CONCLUSION:(1)BFRT for 6 weeks following meniscal injury suture combined with conventional rehabilitation program can effectively reduce atrophy of the quadriceps muscles of the affected limb and maintain thigh circumference.(2)BFRT combined with conventional rehabilitation program after meniscus injury suture can significantly improve the stability of patients’ knee joint, climbing, squatting, pain and other functions, improve the patients’ Activities of daily living(ADL),and promote the rehabilitation process of various knee joint functions. |
