Objective: In order to analyze the short-term clinical outcomes in the esthetic zone with socket shield technique versus using immediate implant placement,the aim of the study was to compare the success rate of implants,pink esthetic score,the thickness absorption of labial bone plate and the average distance of 3D point cloud of the socket shield technique and conventional immediate implantation at the buccal aspect of dental implant,for offering clinical application of socket shield technique with the theoretical basis.Materials and Methods: Based on the inclusion and exclusion criterion,the patients with hopeless maxillary anterior teeth that need receive immediate implant treatment in the Department of Planting,Xiangya Stomatological Hospital from August 2017 to August 2020 were selected in the study.The enrolled patients was divided into the socket shield group(experimental group)and the traditional immediate implant group(control group)according to different surgical methods.Cone-beam computed tomography(CBCT)was acquired from all patients immediately after surgery and 6 months postoperatively.All patients were recall 6 months after the surgery to compare the implant success rate according to the implant success criteria proposed by Cochran and the resorption of the labial bone plate thickness measured by Pramerica software.Then,the CBCT images were imported into Reverse Engineering software for modeling and digital matching,and the average distance of 3D point cloud of the buccal bone plate was acquired.PES of patients before surgery(T0)and 1 year after surgery(T3)were counted.SPSS 21.0 software was used to analyze the statistical data.Results:(1)A total of 25 patients with 36 implants were included in this retrospective study,including 12 patients with 18 implants in the test group and 13 patients with 18 implants in the control group,there was no significant difference in age and gender between the two groups(P>0.05);(2)The success rate of implants was 100% six mouths after operation,no statistically significant difference was detected(P>0.05);(3)The labial bone plate resorption 1mm,3mm,and 5mm apical to implant shoulder was significantly less than those in the control group(P<0.05);(4)The experiment indicted that the socket shield group yielded significantly less average distance of 3D point cloud of-0.37±0.15 mm compared to-0.83±0.48 mm in the immediate placement group(P<0.05);(5)One year after operation,the PES of the test group was 13.13±0.29 mm,and that of the control group was 11.38±0.26 mm,the difference was statistically significant.Conclusion:(1)Compared with the conventional immediate implantation,the short-term clinical outcomes of the socket shield technique can maintain the bone volume mass in maxillary anterior zone more effectively and provide a greater aesthetic outcomes under the premise of the same success rate of implants;(2)Reverse engineering software was a simple,convenient and accurate method for measuring the volumetric change of the bone plate at the labial side of the implants,which is suitable for long-term clinical research. |
