| Objective : To compare the efficacy of cyst peritoneal shunt and endoscopic neurostomy in the treatment of arachnoid cyst in children. Methods : From January 2015 to December 2020,a total of 209children(aged ≤ 14 years)were treated with cyst peritoneal shunt and endoscopic neurostomy in the Department of pediatric neurosurgery,Xiangya Hospital,Central South University.85 children underwent cyst peritoneal shunt,124 children underwent neuroendoscopic fistula,include150 male children and 59 female children. All children were followed up for at least 3 months, and the head CT or MRI were rechecked. The improvement of clinical symptoms, the change of cyst size and recurrence were compared between the two groups. The clinical data were further analyzed by correlation statistics. Results : Two hundred and nine children who met the inclusion criteria were treated with surgery. The clinical symptoms of most patients were improved or controlled after operation. The re examination of brain CT or MRI showed that the cystic cavity was smaller than before, and the operation effect was obvious. The use of neuroendoscopy group has obvious advantages over the cyst peritoneal shunt group in reducing postoperative complications, cyst recurrence rate and shortening operation and hospital stay.Conclusion:1.Cyst peritoneal shunt and endoscopic neurostomy are effective in the treatment of intracranial arachnoid cysts in children.2.Neuroendoscopic cystostomy has wide adaptability and definite curative effect. It is the development trend of minimally invasive treatment of intracranial arachnoid cyst.It is significantly better than cyst peritoneal shunt in shortening hospital stay, reducing postoperative complications and reducing the recurrence rate of intracranial arachnoid cyst in children. |
