Objective: In order to assess the clinical efficacy and safety of the compound Zeqi granular combined with puncture and cupping therapy in the treatment of psoriasis vulgaris, and to evaluate the clinical value of the combined therapy,we conducted an observational study. The aim of this study is to promote the application of the combined therapy in clinical practice. Methods: Select 60 patients with plaque psoriasis who were receiving treatment at our hospital’s dermatology department were assigned randomly to either a Observation group or a control group, where each group consisted of 30 patients. The Observation group received oral Compound Zeqi Granuless(1 sachet,3 times a day)and Puncture and cupping therapy on the flat skin lesions and thickened muscular lesions every 3 days for 2 weeks per course, for a total of three courses of treatment. The total treatment period was 6 weeks. The control group received only oral Compound Zeqi Granuless and also used Vaseline cream for daily moisturizing. The clinical effectiveness observation indicators for the patients were based on their severity of local skin lesion signs(erythema, infiltration, and scales),PASI score, traditional Chinese medicine syndrome score, and DLQI score which was recorded before,2 weeks after and 6 weeks after the treatment. After the 6-week treatment course, the clinical efficacy differences between the two groups were compared and analyzed.Result:1.The data from the two groups were found to be comparable, and there were no significant differences in the patients’ general information, including their age composition, gender distribution, and duration of disease(P>0.05).2.In terms of the severity score of single skin lesion signs, the two groups were statistically significant(P.From 2 weeks after treatment, there was a statistically significant difference between the two groups in the scores of infiltration and scale, indicating that the observation group was better than the control group in improving the infiltration and scale of skin lesions after 2 weeks of treatment.3.In terms of PASI score, the two groups were statistically significant(P.After 2weeks of treatment and 6 weeks of treatment, the P value between the two groups was less than 0.05,indicating that after 2 weeks of treatment, the decrease of PASI score of patients in the observation group was better than that in the control group, and the effect of the observation group was faster than that of the control group.4.In terms of TCM blood stasis syndrome score, the two groups were statistically significant(P.After 2 weeks and 6 weeks of treatment, the comparison between the two groups was statistically significant(P value was less than 0.05),indicating that the observation group could more effectively improve the blood stasis syndrome of patients in TCM since 2 weeks of treatment. The observation group was better than the control group in improving the syndrome of blood stasis in traditional Chinese medicine.5.In terms of DLQI score, the two groups were statistically significant(P.After 2weeks and 6 weeks of treatment, the comparison between the two groups was statistically significant(P value was less than 0.05),indicating that the observation group could more effectively improve the quality of life of patients from 2 weeks of treatment. The observation group was better than the control group in improving the quality of life of patients with psoriasis.6.In terms of clinical efficacy,13 patients in the observation group were significantly effective,14 patients were effective, and 3 patients were ineffective. The total effective rate was 90%;In the control group,3 were significantly effective,16 were effective, and 11 were ineffective. The total effective rate was 63.33%;The data of the two groups were tested by Mann-Whitney U test(P<0.05).The total effective rate of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group.7.During the treatment,1 patient in the observation group had swelling and pain at the operation site, and 2 patients in the control group had slight gastrointestinal symptoms. The incidence of adverse reactions was 3.33% in the observation group and6.67% in the control group.According to Fisher’s exact test, there was no statistical difference between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion: Compound Zeqi Granules combined with pricking and cupping therapy has a significant effect on plaque psoriasis with good safety and no serious adverse reactions, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
