Objective:To monitor the clinical efficacy of posterior electroacupuncture points in the treatment of patients with T2 DM,pre-and post-treatment changes in TCM evidence scores, blood glucose levels, insulin levels, and HOMA-β index were evaluated, the clinical efficacy of posterior electroacupuncture acupuncture points in the treatment of T2 DM and its effect on pancreatic β-cell function, which is a new approach to the prevention and treatment of T2 DM in TCM,relieving patients’ clinical symptoms and improving pancreatic β-function and delaying disease progression to some extent and new therapeutic ideas. Methods:Sixty T2 DM patients who met the inclusion criteria were divided into two groups,a control group and a treatment group, with 30 patients in each group. In the control group, primary care was combined with general acupuncture, including glucose control, lipid control, antihypertensive medication and diet, and acupuncture points were selected from bilateral pulmonary Yu,gastric and hypogastric Yu,splenic Yu and renal Yu.In the treatment group, electroacupuncture was added to the control group protocol,i.e.two of the four groups had a unilateral lung Yu-hypogastric Yu point and a bilateral spleen Yu-renal Yu point. The total duration of treatment in both groups was4 weeks. To assess the clinical efficacy,TCM certificate,FPG,2h PG,FINS and HOMA-β levels were calculated in both groups before and after treatment and their changes were monitored.Results:(1)Comparison of MCT syndrome scores: MCT syndrome scores in both treatment and control groups decreased after treatment(P<0.01);the decrease in MCT syndrome scores was more significant in the f IRst group than in the second group(P<0.01).(2)Comparison of FPG and 2h PG serum levels: FPG and 2h PG levels decreased significantly in both groups after treatment(P<0.01);however,there was no significant difference between the two groups in the extent of decrease(P>0.05).(3)Comparison of FINS and HOMA-β between the two groups: FINS and HOMA-βscores increased significantly in both treatment and control groups after treatment(P<0.01);improvements in FINS and HOMA-β scores were significantly better in the treatment group than in the control group(P<0.01).(4)Overall effectiveness rate: 70% overall effectiveness rate in the control group,93%overall effectiveness rate in the treatment group, the treatment group was significantly better than the control group(P<0.01).Conclusion:The treatment plan based on electroacupuncture can significantly reduce the clinical symptoms of type 2 diabetes patients, and have a good effect on the function of islet β-cells,so that the body can benefit in regulating blood sugar and improving the quality of life.
