| This project comprehensively uses the research methods of traditional Chinese medicine philology to investigate the life,writings and the completion process of Cheng Yuanzhong’s Medical Cases;Research the version origin of Cheng Yuanzhong’s Medical Cases and summarize its version system;Sort out the content of the book and summarize the main academic features.Cheng Lun,whose courtesy name “yuan Zhong”,also styled himself as “Xinghai”,a native of Linhe,Xixiang,Xiao County,Anhui,was born between 1570-1578 and died after 1634.The active time is mainly during the Wanli and Chongzhen periods of the Ming Dynasty.When he was young,he studied imperial examinations,but later turned to medicine due to severe hematemesis.After seven years of self-study,he is highly skilled in medicine.During the twenty years on the road,he saved countless lives because of his high medical skills,and he was popular among the celebrities and officials,so he joined the Yulin Army.In the first year of the Tianqi(1621),Cheng Yuanzhong’s Medical Case was published by his fellow publisher Fang Daoda.He is also the author of Typhoid Miscellaneous Evidence(not seen today),Cheng Xinghai’s Medical Cases(now in Nanjing Library),and Four Kinds of Inch Supplements(Shucao,Liao Painting,Yuyin,Continued Yuyin,and Medical Cases,now in the Capital Library and the National Library of Japan).The book Cheng Yuan Zhong Medical Cases is also known as Medical cases,Cheng’s Medical Cases,Cheng Xinghai Medical cases,etc.,and the modern common name is Cheng Yuan Zhong Medical Cases.The book version system can be roughly divided into three types: one is a four-volume system,mainly including the version of the first year of Tianqi(1621),which is stored in the Anhui China Hui Culture Museum;Twenty-fourth year of Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty(1759)Chai Guolian manuscript,in the Jiangxi Provincial Library.The second is a five-volume system,mainly including the version after sixth year of Tianqi,the single book is in the Anhui Provincial Library(fragment),and the series of books is in the National Library of Japan;Several Japanese manuscripts are in the library of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine,the Fu Sinian Library of the Academia Sinica in Taiwan,and the National Library of Japan.The third is a six-volume system,mainly a supplementary engraving during the Chongzhen period of the Ming Dynasty,which is stored in the Capital Library and the Library of the Chinese Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences;A manuscript is in the library of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine;A kind of manuscript is in the Suzhou Library;A manuscript is in the library of Suzhou Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital.The overall academic characteristics embodied in the book : remote inheritance of the "Nei Jing",tracing back to the source of poverty;advocating Zhongjing but was not bound by him;Careful examination of clinical evidence,treatment of diseases and seeking the root;If the medicine is not available,acupuncture is appropriate. |
