Objective:The aim of this study was to assess the clinical efficacy and safety of acu puncture therapy in treating post-stroke urinary retention through a randomized c ontrolled trial and to compare it with conventional acupuncture,in order to pro vide reference basis for developing more rational protocols.Method:In this study,60 stroke patients with post-stroke urinary retention that met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into two groups, each with 30 pati ents. The control group was treated with routine acupuncture, while the treatme nt group was treated with routine acupuncture plus fire needle acupuncture.Bot h groups of patients received bladder function exercises every day,and Chinese medicine treatments were used to relieve the symptoms of stroke in the limbs, including acupoints such as Kidney Shu and Bladder Shu.The treatment group was treated with fire needle acupuncture on the above acupoints, three times a week. The study group was treated with filiform needle acupuncture, once a d ay,six times a week, for two weeks in both groups.By comparing the post-treat ment residual urine volume and bladder functional scores of two groups of pati ents, the efficacy of the treatment can be evaluated to determine its impact on bladder function.During the treatment,if the patient is able to urinate independ ently within 24 hours and the B-ultrasound shows that the residual urine volum e is less than 50 ml,then the treatment is finished and the independent urinatio n is successful. However,if the patient can still urinate independently but with difficulty, only a drop at a time,or the B-ultrasound shows that the residual uri ne volume is greater than 50 ml,then needling therapy needs to continue until the course is completed.Result:(1)A comparative study of 60 patients with post-stroke urinary retention was conducted to complete the whole process. Before intervention, the baseline data of gender, stroke type, etc.were consistent and comparable between the two gr oups(P>0.05).(2)A comparison of post-treatment residual urine volume between the control group and the treatment group showed a significant difference(P<0.05)while pr e-treatment comparison showed no significant difference(P>0.05).(3)Comparison of bladder function scores:There was no significant difference(P>0.05)between the control group and the treatment group before treatment;af ter treatment, there was a significant difference(P<0.05)between the control gr oup and the treatment group.(4)The comparison of clinical efficacy:after treatment, the total efficacy rates of the control group and the treatment group were 76.67%and 86.67%,respecti vely(P<0.05),and the difference was statistically significant.Conclusion:(1)Both moxibustion and conventional acupuncture therapy can improve the s ymptoms of urinary retention after stroke.(2)Clinical efficacy of moxibustion treatment for post-stroke urinary retention is better than that of conventional acupuncture therapy.
