Clinical Observation On The Treatment Of Lower Limb Lymphedema After Gynecological Malignant Tumor Operation With Wenyang Lishui Formula

Objective: By observing the effects of external application of Wenyang Lishui Formula on the lower limb circumference,clinical symptoms,and quality of life of patients with lower limb lymphedema(LLL)after gynecological malignant tumor surgery,the clinical efficacy of external application of Wenyang Lishui Formula in treating lower limb lymphedema after gynecological malignant tumor surgery was analyzed,providing a theoretical basis for clinical treatment of lower limb lymphedema.Methods: Collect stage I or II patients with lower limb lymphedema who visited the outpatient and inpatient departments of the Cancer and Radiotherapy Department of Lu’an Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from June 2021 to May 2022.Among them,there were 35 postoperative cases of cervical cancer,15 postoperative cases of endometrial cancer,and 10 postoperative cases of ovarian cancer.Sixty patients with lower limb lymphedema were randomly divided into an experimental group of 30 cases and a control group of 30 cases using a computer randomized single blind grouping method.The experimental group was treated with external application of Wenyang Lishui Formula combined with routine lower limb functional exercise,while the control group was treated with placebo external application combined with routine lower limb functional exercise.By studying the changes in lower limb circumference,ECOG score,traditional Chinese medicine syndrome efficacy judgment,and gynecological malignant tumor related lymphedema symptoms before and after treatment in two groups of patients,the effectiveness of external application of Wenyang Lishui Formula in treating postoperative lower limb lymphedema of gynecological malignant tumors and alleviating lower limb discomfort symptoms was explored.Results: 1.General situation: A total of 60 clinical case observations were completed,with 30 cases in each group.There was no statistically significant difference(P>0.05)in the baseline data examination(age,pathological type,number of lymph node dissection,edema stage,and edema site)between the two groups of patients before enrollment,indicating comparability.2.Lower limb circumference measurement: According to the circumference measurement values before and after treatment,after the end of the 28 day treatment cycle,the lower limb circumference of both groups of patients decreased compared to before treatment,but the improvement of circumference in the experimental group was better than that in the control group(P<0.05);3.Gynecological Malignant Tumor Lymphedema Questionnaire(GCLQ)score:After treatment,the heaviness score,edema score,swelling score,and limb function score of the experimental group were significantly lower than those of the control group,with statistical differences(P<0.05);4.ECOG score: After treatment,the ECOG scores of both groups of patients decreased compared to before treatment,but the ECOG scores of the experimental group were significantly lower than those of the control group(P<0.05);5.Traditional Chinese Medicine Symptoms: After treatment,the TCM syndrome scores of both groups of patients decreased compared to before treatment(P<0.05);After treatment,the TCM syndrome score of the experimental group decreased more significantly compared to the control group,with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).At the same time,the total effective cases after treatment were statistically compared,and the total effective rate(80%)of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group(56.67%),with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion: The external application of Wenyang Lishui Formula can reduce the lower limb circumference of patients with lower limb lymphedema(LLL)after gynecological malignant tumor surgery;Significantly reduce the heaviness and swelling of the patient’s lower limbs,and improve their limb function;Improving the quality of life of patients is a safe and effective treatment method.
