| Objective1.To construct the teaching mode of clinical practice for undergraduate nursing interns based on virtual reality system, enrich and innovate the teaching mode of clinical practice.2.On the basis of traditional practice and teaching, combined with the self-developed virtual reality nursing system of closed thoracic drainage,it provides diversified practice methods for the skills training of undergraduate nursing interns in the practice and learning process.3.To verify the application effect of the above clinical practice teaching mode on the theoretical knowledge, skill operation level, humanistic care ability, clinical communication and clinical critical thinking and other clinical comprehensive abilities of undergraduate nursing interns.Methods1.This study explored the application effect of virtual reality system in clinical practice learning of nursing students through the review of previous literature, and analyzed the feasibility of application of virtual reality system in clinical practice teaching of nursing students. In order to meet the needs of students’ clinical practice and learning, the necessary hardware equipment of the existing virtual reality system of thoracic closed drainage was upgraded. At the same time,we set up a research group that integrates head nurses in clinical departments, clinical practice teaching teachers, professional course teachers and clinical practice teaching managers.Through many analyses and discussions,we formed the initial version of clinical practice teaching model for undergraduate nursing interns based on virtual reality system.Using the experimental research method,60 undergraduate nursing interns from the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui University of Chinese Medicine were selected as the research objects for the pre-test.They were divided into VR group and model group, with 30 people in each group,to understand the influence of the above mode on students’ theoretical performance, skill operation level, humanistic care ability, clinical communication ability and critical thinking in clinical practice learning. After summarizing and analyzing the experimental results, the final version of clinical practice teaching model was formed.2.In order to understand the application effect of the final version of the virtual reality system-based clinical practice teaching mode for undergraduate nursing interns, the randomized controlled trial design method was adopted in this study.78 nursing undergraduates(all four years of schooling)who were enrolled in clinical practice study in the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui University of Chinese Medicine in 2022 were selected as the research objects in the formal experiment, and random number table method was adopted. The subjects were randomly divided into VR group and model group, with 39 participants in each group. The influence of each practice stage on students’ theoretical achievement, skill operation level, humanistic care ability, clinical communication ability and critical thinking ability was analyzed. The self-made satisfaction questionnaire was used to understand students’ satisfaction with practice teaching and virtual reality system application after the practice of the first stage. At the same time, the semi-structured interview method was used to select 10 students in the VR group for qualitative interview,so as to understand students’ experience of the practice mode of the first stage and the practical application of the virtual reality system.Results1.A teaching model of clinical practice for undergraduate nursing interns based on virtual reality system was constructed: During the model construction stage,a total of 11 original literatures were included in the literature review of this study.Comprehensive literature research results show that the use of virtual reality system in clinical practice learning of nursing students has a certain improvement in the theoretical achievement, skill operation level and other evaluation indicators of the study effect. And the virtual reality system has a wide range of clinical application, which can be applied to each stage of nursing students’ clinical practice learning and each clinical department.Combined with the results of literature research and the existing virtual reality system and equipment, the initial version of clinical practice teaching model for undergraduate nursing interns based on virtual reality system was formed after several discussions among the members of the research group. The pre-test results showed that all evaluation indexes of VR group were better than those of model group, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).It was determined that the initial version of the clinical practice teaching model was suitable for the clinical practice teaching of undergraduate nursing interns, and after discussion by the members of the research group,it was determined to be the final version of the clinical practice teaching model applied to the clinical practice teaching of undergraduate nursing interns.2.The application effect of the virtual reality-based clinical practice teaching mode for undergraduate nursing interns in the clinical practice of undergraduate nursing interns was verified: After the formal application of this mode for practice teaching, the theoretical performance and skill operation level of students in the VR group were significantly improved, compared with the model group, the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).The total score of the VR group was(223.69±5.01)points,indicating that the VR group had reached a high level of humanistic care. The scores of "cognition","courage" and "patience" were respectively(86.90±1.43)points,(70.21±3.59)points and(66.59±1.67)points,all of which reached or even exceeded the level of foreign norms. In terms of clinical communication ability,VR group scored more than 3 points in the six dimensions of "establishing harmonious relationship","keen listening","confirming patients’ problems","joint participation","conveying effective information" and "verifying feelings",indicating that the students’ clinical communication ability has reached a satisfactory level. This model can effectively improve the clinical communication ability of undergraduate nursing interns. In terms of critical thinking, the total score of the VR group was(355.69±4.49)points,and the scores of "truth searching","open mind","analytical ability","systematic ability","confidence in critical thinking","thirst for knowledge" and "cognitive maturity" were all over 50 points, indicating that the students in this group had strong critical thinking characteristics. The satisfaction survey results showed that the students in VR group had higher satisfaction than the model group in six aspects: "deepening the understanding of theoretical knowledge","enhancing the level of skill operation","improving the ability of combining theoretical knowledge with practical operation","enhancing the ability of identifying patients’ problems","stimulating the interest in learning" and "helping to understand the real clinical work".The difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).The semi-structured interview results show that interviewees believe that the application of this practice model and virtual reality system is innovative and practical, which can effectively enhance their interest and enthusiasm in learning, close to the real clinical work, strengthen their comprehensive ability, provide more learning opportunities, and improve the learning effect.Conclusion1.Effectively construct clinical practice teaching mode of undergraduate nursing interns based on virtual reality system. The clinical practice teaching method of undergraduate nursing interns has been further innovated and enriched.2.The application of virtual reality system provides a variety of practice methods for the skills training of undergraduate nursing interns in clinical practice learning.3.The clinical practice teaching mode of undergraduate nursing interns based on virtual reality system can effectively improve students’ comprehensive clinical practice abilities such as theoretical achievement, skill operation level, humanistic care ability, clinical communication ability and critical thinking ability. |
