Construction Of Clinical Communication Ability Training Program For Junior Nurses

【Objective】To investigate the current situation of clinical communication ability of junior nurses and analyze its main influencing factors.To investigate the weaknesses and training needs of clinical communication of junior nurses with reference to domestic and international clinical communication skills training experiences.On this basis,the training program for clinical communication skills of junior nurses was constructed to provide a reference basis for improving clinical communication skills of junior nurses.【Methods】1.Cross-sectional survey:Using convenience sampling method,584 junior nurses from 8 general hospitals in Sichuan Province were selected as the research objects,and the general information questionnaire and clinical communication ability related scale were used to investigate.2.Construction of training programs:A content analysis of domestic and international studies related to clinical communication skills was conducted using the literature research method.A purposive sampling method was used to select 10 junior nurses and 8 junior nurses-related workers for semi-structured interviews..Guided by the theoretical framework and combined with the previous research results,the first draft of the training program was formed,and the training program was revised and improved through two rounds of Delphi expert consultation.【Results】1.Cross-sectional surveyThe clinical communication ability of junior nurses is above the middle level.The results showed that whether to serve as a class cadre,whether the nursing profession is its first choice,whether it has received communication course training during school and after entry,empathy ability,social self-efficacy,and emotional intelligence level are significant factors affecting the clinical communication ability of junior nurses.2.Training program constructionBased on the current situation survey,literature study and qualitative interview,the first draft of the clinical communication skills training program for junior nurses was constructed,and then after 2 rounds of expert consultation,the final training program contained 5 level 1 entries,19 level 2 entries and 39 level 3 entries.【Conclusion】1.The clinical communication ability of junior nurses is in the upper middle level,which needs to be further improved.It is suggested that nursing managers should pay attention to the cultivation of clinical communication ability of junior nurses,and take targeted training and education measures to improve the clinical communication ability of junior nurses.2.This training program is based on the current situation investigation,literature research,qualitative interview and Delphi expert consultation method,including training objectives,training contents,training methods,training evaluation and training teachers.In the later stage,empirical research is needed to verify the feasibility and applicability of this training program.
