Objective:The aim of this study is to observe the efficacy of Qingjin Zhiti Decoction in the treatment of allergic rhinitis(lung meridian latent heat type)in children and to seek a reasonable and effective TCM therapy. Methods:A total of 60 children aged 2 to 14 years with allergic rhinitis(lung meridian latent heat type)who attended the paediatric outpatient clinic of the First Affiliated Hospital of Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine between December 2021 and December 2022 and met the diagnostic criteria and inclusion criteria were collected and selected. They were equally divided into two groups using the random number table method,30 cases each in the control group and the trial group. The control group was given cetirizine hydrochloride syrup and the trail group was given Qingjin Zhiti Decoction. The treatment duration was 2 weeks, and the clinical manifestations and related indexes of the children in both groups were recorded after treatment.3 months later, the recurrence rate of the two groups was recorded at follow-up.Finally,the data were entered into SPSS25.0 to analyse and compare the efficacy of the two groups.Results:1.A total of 58 cases were finally completed in the subject, with one case dropout respectively in the trial and the control group. After statistical analysis, the clinical data of the children in the two groups before treatment, such as age, gender, duration of illness, and the points of the main symptoms and signs, were not statistically different,P>0.05,and were comparable.2.Analysis of main symptoms:The main symptoms of both groups of children improved compared to before treatment, and the therapeutic effect of the trial group was better than that of the control group(P<0.05).3.Analysis of secondary symptoms:The trial group can sig nificantly ameliorate cough, pharyngeal itching, constipation and dry mouth, and the trial group was better than the control gro up(P<0.05).4.Physical sign analysis:Both groups can improve turbinat e hypertrophy, and the efficacy of the two groups was similar(P>0.05).5.Analysis of laboratory index:The eosinophil count of patients in both groups decreased after treatment compared with that before treatment, which was statistically significant(P<0.05).And the efficacy of the two groups was similar.6.Comparison of the total effective rate of children in the two groups:the total effective rate of children in the trial group was 89.66%,compared with 72.41%in the control group, and the difference between the groups was statistically significant at P<0.05,indicating that the overall efficacy of the trial group was better than that of the control group.7.Comparison of recurrence rate:At the follow-up after 3 months of treatment, the recurrence rate was 3.85%in the trial group and 28.57%in the control group, which was statistically significant(P<0.05),indicating that the recurrence rate of the trial group was lower than that of the control group.Conclusion:1.The clinical efficacy of Qingjin Zhiti Decoction in treating allergic rhinitis of lung meridian latent heat type in children is reliable.2.Qingjin Zhiti Decoction can significantly ameliorate sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion, nasal itching, cough, pharyngeal itching, constipation and dry mouth in children suffering from allergic rhinitis with lung meridian latent heat.3.Qingjin Zhiti Decoction can effectively reduce the recurrence rate of allergic rhinitis of the lung meridian latent heat in children.
