Objective: Menopause means the loss of ovarian function.Menstruation continues to stop for more than 12 months, marking the end of the female reproductive cycle. The advance trend of women’s natural menopause age(ANM)has been reported around the world.Early or premature menopause is considered to be an important risk factor of cardiovascular disease. Therefore, based on the data of "Northeast China Rural Cardiovascular Health Study"(NCRCHS),this study investigated the natural menopause, metabolic related indicators and cardiovascular diseases of rural women in Liaoning Province, and compared the time of natural menopause of rural women in Liaoning Province with other studies. To analyze the relationship between age of natural menopause and cardiovascular risk, and try to find the relationship between CVD risk and various menopause-related characteristics. Methods: A survey was conducted on 6414 rural residents from 26 villages in Dawa County,Liaoyang County and Zhangwu County,Liaoning Province,China. The basic information, physical examination and blood biochemical indicators of the subjects were collected by trained professionals, and the event was diagnosed by the World Health Organization’s multi-country monitoring standards for cardiovascular diseases.SPSS and R software were used to process the collected data.According to the type of variables, appropriate statistical methods were selected for description and analysis. Both were twosided tests, and the difference was statistically significant with P ≤ 0.05.Subjects were divided into groups of<45 years old,45-49 years old,50-51 years old and>51 years old according to the age of natural menopause.Cox proportional risk model was used to analyze the relationship between the risk of cardiovascular events and different natural menopausal ages at baseline. Results: A total of 5210 people were included in this study.Among the menopausal population,it was found that the rate of premature menopause(<40 years old)of rural women in Liaoning Province was 2.03%,and the rate of premature menopause(40-45 years old)was 13.08%.In the fully adjusted model, the risk of CVD in people with ANM<45 years old is 1.71 times that in people with ANM>51 years old(P=0.031),but there is no significant correlation between ANM and all-cause death and stroke.Among people with abnormal blood glucose, the risk of CVD in people with ANM<45 years old is 2.71 times that in people with 50 years old ≤ ANM ≤ 51 years old(P=0.012).Compared with the group aged 50 years ≤ ANM ≤ 51 years, the risk of stroke in the group aged ANM<45 years is 4.17 times(P=0.004),and that in the group aged 46 years ≤ ANM ≤ 49 years is 3.12 times(P=0.012).Conclusion: The premature menopause rate and premature menopause rate of rural population in Liaoning Province are basically the same as the global average. The risk of CVD in the population with ANM<45 years old is higher than that in the normal menopause age group. In the population with abnormal blood glucose, even before menopause before the age of 49,the risk of CVD and stroke is higher than that in the normal menopause age group.
